New Family Member Needs a Name
When my son was 4 years old (he's 24 now) I had to put down my last Pet, He was a 15 year old Bull Mastiff and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Swore I would never get attached to another Dog again...... Well this little guy joined the Family today he is 7 weeks old and I went the other way as far as size, he is a Chihuahua sp?. Ive been thrashing some names around but nothing is sticking. How about some help guys and gals. He even came home with his favorite toy
Thanks
Dan

I'd name him Lucca Brazzi. That was the big hitman in the Godfather.

After you can narrow it down to 2 or 3 names, you should creat a thread with a poll! It would be kind of interesting! Maybe a first!

That's a wonderful puppy! I know you're going to really enjoy that little fella. Sometimes it's fun to let puppies earn their name. It usually doesn't take more than a few days until an event of some kind occurs or a quirk becomes apparent. Pugsters says hi.

I agree, it usually takes me a couple of weeks to get it right. I have an American Bulldog that is (12) getting way past her prime. I do not look forward to the END.

7 weeks old? I vote for "Hey, Dammit!" cause that what you're gonna holler ever time he pees on the rug, tears into the trash, terrorizes the cat, and so on. He's gonna be Hey Dammit for the next two years no matter what you name him so you may as well start him off right.
Also, sorry about your bullmastiff, mine's almost ten and I worry about him, he's starting to slow down. You were lucky to have yours for as long as you did.

My suggestion is "Julio" for multiple reasons.
1--It is a Spanish/Mexican name.
2--You got him in July = Julio.
3--When you take him walking you can sing the Paul Simon song; Me & Julio...
4--The fun in seeing how many people try to spell his name with an H.
5--Singing the song again. You know, "Me & Julio out in the backyard" Or where ever you are going. Once you start singing it is hard to stop.

How about Farnsworth.
I have wanted to use that one for a while but no new pets recently.
Cavalry general, KIA in heroic charge at Gettysburg.
I have four pets and three are named after Gettysburg figures.

He's very cute. I usually give my pets human names or a name that gives them a dignity and an equal family member footing.
When my daughter was very young, I got a dog from the pound and named him Toby because she could say "Toe" and "Bee". I had a Rottweiler named "Monty" [from the halls of Montezuma] and another Rottweiler I named "Major" [Rock Robin's Bronze Star Major, born during the first Iraq war and I had to pick a name starting with "B"]. Growing up, our GSD was Penny and our Dobe was Amy. Now I have Shiba Inu named Sadie [Sadie Foxy Lady].
My naming quirk comes in handy too. Sadie signed up for the local weekly newspaper and other things where I want to track mailing list selling.
Good luck picking his name - it's a very special and rare honor!

Wess ( short for Wesson ) ?
How about Panzer..... Tank.....
We were in the hot tub the other night, my wife, daughter and I. I always talk about getting another dog for the shop here.
My daughter say's what would you name it? The first thing causally that popped in my head was
Mud Flap........
So now she said the next animal she gets , she is going to name Mud Flap. I said you can't steal my name.
The dog next door is named Chief, I named him Frank just being silly with the kids. So now his name on our side of the fence is Frank.
Cute little bugger.

Boy some great names I like Porter, too cool, but so far Chewy is fitting. I forgot what it was like having a Baby in the house lets see a 11:00 PM feeding and playfest. then a 3:00AM feeding and Playfest again. he is snoozing again right now, but he May qualify for a name like Baron Von PiddlePooper

I agree it can be hard to come up with a suitable name. I had to put my 10 year old Golden Retriever down this spring. It was the most difficult thing I've ever done. I recently adopted a 2 year old Golden in need of a new home, and it took quite a bit of deliberation to finally come up with (Win)Chester. In the case of your little guy...I'm with the others who have suggested "Tuco".

Only one name for a Chihuahua. "Frijole" or if you prefer the English version, "Bean". Always liked the movie "Freebie and the Bean".
