Question Military Retirement Check......

My Army retirement check was $9.32 less this month than normal. Has always been a flat dollar but was $xxxx.68 this monrth. I haven't changed any with holdings. None of my other 3 checks changed at all.

Anyone else notice a change in their check(s)?

thanks in advance,
SC

Since the hope isn't working out, maybe Obama & Co. have decided they're going to start keeping the change.

My Dad is retired military, haven't heard anything from him about getting less than usual and he'd be hollering if he did!

$5.82 of the missing amount is a back charge from the Red Cross for 2 doughnuts and a cup of coffee from years ago.

The remaining balance is for the two (2) M-16 take down pins you lost in basic training.

XXXXXXXXXX

I didn't lose any take down pins, but I did break two sling swivel pins. Caught hxxl over that.

The doughnuts were stale and the coffee was cold.

Checked DFAS yet? You can see your Retiree Account Statement there, including any changes. BTW mine changed too, but only a few cents thanks to a Federal withholding tax change.

I know it's a little of a thread drift, but I never understood that. Why don't government salaries and pensions come tax-free? What's the point of adding to the bureaucracy by giving you money then taking it back?!?

That's your contribution to Charlie Rangel's back taxes.

Mine hasn't changed in months. We don't pay Charlie Rangel anything. Military retirement is state tax exempt in NY.

Didn't notice a change guess I need to check it. But I'm like dg101. My X used her's to go to the beach with her new boyfriend. But all's good picking my son up in about an hour.

And let's give oh Charlie Rangel a break. Remember he held off the entire screaming hoard of the Chinese Army...lol... That makes me want to throw up everytime I hear him bring that up.

My ex uses what she gets from me to survive. She made a few bad decisions when she had a state job and then a decent pay on another one. Her husband has changed employers a few times-he drives truck-but never sticks with one job very long.

At least she only gets a set amount each month-she doesn't get the cost of living increase each year-of course none of us did this year.
