Great site. Thanks for posting.
I had the pleasure of meeting Elvis back in the early 50's as we both were taking guitar lessons from Harry Chappell at J&S Music in Shreveport. He went on to fame and fortune while I lived a meager existence. No telling where he would have gone had he had my looks and talent.

I had breakfast a couple times at this restaurant in Sparks, Nv. That has a couple walls covered with Elvis's gun collection in glass cases. Or some of his guns anyway. There was some great stuff in there.

As tacky as it might seem, he had some smith's and 1911's with custom terquoise (sp?) and ivory etc grips that were drop dead gorgeous. They have them out on display in graceland. I decided that even if I can't use them in any kind of meaningful way, I will own some terquoise grips made for one of my 1911's

Have you gone to a site just for the 1911 grips? They have some fine looking grips. Some flashy, some unique and some would look pretty on Richard Simmons guns, if he has any.

Yeah, those are the ones lol. Completely tasteless and tacky so they would fit in just fine with my wardrobe of hawaiian shirts and bar t shirts I've accumulated over the years.
