Default Color Case Hardening....

I have a Model 19-3 that at somepoint in its life suffered from the hammer being out of square with the frame, thus rubbing on one side and ruining the color case hardening. Is there a way to recover the color, or must I go with a new/different hammer if I want it back?

You could go with a new/different hammer or just cover it up with cold blue if it bothers you. The hardened surface is still there.

Thank you, sir - I may just try the cold blue I hadn't thought of that. If I don't like the results then I'll be hammer shopping!
