Default Not a S&W Commander Update

The first pic is of my NKL LWT Commander as I purchased it several yeas ago, I dont remember exactly what I paid but know it was under $500.00.

Unfortunatly for me I did not know what a Millett dual crimp front sight was so I was stuck with the sights that were on it.

The second pic is as it is today after getting it back from Eric at E.Z. Performance Firearms in Mesa AZ.

Eric welded up the holes from the Millet front then milled in a set of Novak Lo-Profile three dots for me. I opted for Novak's "wide notch" rear as the extra light on either side of the front sight makes it easier on my old eyes.

He also added a new Ed Brown slide release and tactical thumb safety, gave it a light dehorning, bead blasted the frame and then poly coated the slide in a matte back.

I had previously replaced the old King's grip safety with a Wilson and added the Colt wrap around grips (I know I love wood too but I carry IWB and checkered wood rubs me raw and smooth wood is ...well smooth.)

This one had actually fallen out of my carry rotation but it is now back front and center.

Default Nice

Well I think it looks great! Now that you have it all fixed up you can have some fun. I have a stock 1977 vintage CLW. It's a keeper too.

What brand of wrap around did you get. I have been looking, just to have them.

Love those Commanders,

George,

The grips are Colt, I think these were used from the factory on the original issue Combat Elites, I dont know if they came on any others.

You can find them on E-Bay sometimes.

Made me smile just looking at your nice Commander. It kind of reminded me of my old 1st generation Colt Combat Elite. I always have liked that look.

NICE!
