wow, i realize now that i have taken one of my favorite things for granted. take home some cookies and cream. you won't regret it. if there was an addictive drug designed especially for me, then that must be it. i can't live without it and don't wanna try.

I was at TAMU, College Station which is just up the road from Blue Bell, Hearne TX IIRC, and Cookies and Cream was just getting started. Blue Bell was buying Oreo Cookies and crunching them up and then when things started to take off, asked Nabisco about buying their "production defects". Nabisco said no... So Nabisco lost out on a chance to make $$ on something that they would not be able to sell. Personally, I hoped Blue Bell made their own or switched to Hydrox...

Actually, I was thinking of dropping off a couple of gallons at my Cardiologists office, but I don't think that he has yet acquired an appreciation for my sense of humor!!!

I think I'll sign off now and head for the freezer, where there's a brand-new, un-opened container of Maple Walnut waiting for me. ~

Now you are quoting Lago In The Morning, Corpus Christi, Texas, AM1360, his morning sign off. People in Texas appreciate their Blue Belle Ice Creme. Wally World has a poor quality knock off called Blue Bunny, not the same, no sir.

I reside in one of the few places on the planet where one cannot buy Baskin-Robbins ice cream. However, I am off on a short roadie to a place where they do sell it.
Cooler is ready; I shall return with a load of B-R Peanut Butter and Chocolate, forthwith.
Be safe.
PS:
I survive on Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough when outta PB and C.

Hope I'm not too far north ! I'll check the Meijer's in Michigan City.
We're hooked on Edy's but I'll have to check out this new (to me) delicacy.

I've seen it in the grocery store, but the one I usually shop at doesn't carry many flavors. I've never tried Blue Bell. But seeing as how I need to pick up a few groceries today, and I love ice cream, I'll add it to my list. Anyone remember the days of homemade ice cream? I have a small electric, but it's not the same as back when we had family get togethers at Grandma & Grandpa's, and the guys would break out the oak bucket hand crank ice cream maker and lots of ice and rock salt. Sure do miss those days! Excuse me while I add Blue Bell to my grocery list..........

Here abouts (SW-TN) Blue Bell is in the freezers of most gas stations (well, they're called gas stations ) as well as at the grocery stores.
My fav is the Homemade Vanilla (mmmm)... Speaking of homemade ice cream.
They must have a pretty big house

Ok. I had to reply to all those who have talked up Blue Bell. I picked up a half gallon of Homemade Vanilla when I went to the store earlier this week. You say Blue Bell is good ice cream? Well.....so do I! The vanilla actually tasted like.... vanilla! I have to admit, it was the best store bought vanilla I've had. Today I was at the store, and the Blue Bell Cookies and Cream was calling me from across the store. So, tonight, after the grilled ham steaks with apricot preserve glaze and scalloped potatoes have settled, it'll be Blue Bell time!

The local favorite, and excellent ice cream is Mayfield's. My favorite is Blue Bell. Ain't nothing finer!

Welcome to the world of ice cream. I took the family to the 100th anniversary at the Blue Bell plant a few years back. Everyone left fatter and happy.

Blue Bell's vanilla ice cream is the closest thing to homemade I've ever found, and it's excellent. I have a canister of it in the freezer right now!

Blue Bell is popular in stores around here but Braums ice cream is my favorite, and when you buy a fruit flavor like strawberry there are lots and lots of huge hunks of fresh strawberrys in it. They also have frozen yogurts that are a little healthier and have fewer calories and taste better than regular ice cream, and I especially like their chocolate pecan frozen yogurt. It has a lot of big pecan chunks in it. Tonight we just finished having some root beer floats with A&W Rootbeer and Best Choice Vanilla, and it was only $1.99 a half gallon and tasted as good as any expensive vanilla ice cream I ever had.

This topic inspired me to look at Blue Bell's website, Bluebell.com, and it lists all their flavors as well as a list of the states where it is available: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. Blue Bell is also available in some parts of: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina and Florida.
