Default 25.00 aA MONTH CELL PHONE PLAN

A few weeks ago I saw a commercial for a 25.00 a month cell phone plan that included internet, e mail, and I think 300 voice minutes, with no contract.
It stated that they use the Sprint network.
I have been searching for the company, but I cannot find it.
Anyone know what the name of the company is?
Information would be greatly appreciated.

Virgin mobile runs on the Sprint network (I think they recently took over majority ownership), was it them?

I'll do a little looking on HoFo and see what I find. They have Sprint and general prepaid sections.

Yep, it was Virgin Mobile, good price...

Might want to reconsider this.

I travel a lot over the southern US and go to a lot of areas that does not have cell service. It has been my experience that the companies with lower prices or smaller companies have the lowest coverage area.

What good is a phone if you do not have coverage to use it? I carry two phones, one from AT &T and one from Verizon. Even so, I can be 50 miles from a major city and within 10 miles of an interstate and not have service on either.

Moreso than ever, the old saying about getting what you pay for is correct.

I am considering a satellite phone. Works everywhere but cost more than payments on a new Porche.

Sprint is a larger company that has that problem. They're great as long as you're around population centers, but they suck out in the sticks. That said, no one has coverage all the way across Wyoming on I-80. Sat phones are out of the question for me. If I'm making a payment that big on a piece of equipment every month, it had better have 18 wheels and bring in $20k/mo, gross.

The company I worked for closed it's doors a year ago. I had to cut expensives. I seldom use my cell phone, so I decieded to drop it.

I called Verison to cancell. They told me I could get limited use for $20 a month.. I kept it. I hardly ever use it but it's nice to have when in the car.

Sprint sucks. Everyone else can get coverage when I go on fishing and hunting trips except me.

One of the lawyers in my office travels a lot, even more than I do. He has one, along with a couple cell phones.

The sat phone works anywhere but initial cost was about $1,100, then a $200 activation & set up charge. A monthly fee of $179 a month and there are no minutes included. Each minute cost him $3.34 and charges start when he presses the send button. Last I heard on this, his monthly bill was running about $800 a month (tax deduction since it is a business expense). I have used it and I have spoken with him while he was using it. Very clear and works anywhere, even in the middle of the Atlantic ocean on a cruise. Just really too much money for me to justify having one.

I have always thought that if the Sat phone companies would make it affordable everyone would have one and drop the cell phones. I have to believe if everyone that had a cell switched to a Sat phone, they would make much more $ by the volume. Just my thoughts

I wonder why this is the first I'm hearing of this SAT phone? Is this something real new?

They've been around a few years, but they're prohibitively expensive. I'm not sure the prices will come down, because most folks can't justify the expense when a cell phone works 98% of the time. Plus, satellites ain't cheap.
