Default A Blast From Your Childhood?

Did anyone besides me ever buy these?

I found these in a box of junk from the house I grew up in.

(Can you buy ANYthing for a dime today?)

I had several duncan butterflys growing up. I don't think I kept any of them around long enough for replacement strings. I think I'm gonna buy the next duncan I see to relive some memories. (hopefully I won't relive the "yo-yo-kitchen-window tragedy of '93" again)

I probably had 3 or 4. A cheap blue and white striped one with a wood body and wood center post; a butterfly (which was a "normal" yo-yo stuck on the center post bass-ackwards, if you look at it) that was light blue plastic with silver metal flake embedded in it, and a fun oversized golf ball yo-yo.

I was the elementary school champion when I was in 5th grade!

I had an Imperial that I could spin so good it would wear through a string in less than a week. Used to do all the standard tricks. I hadnt thought about that in years, thanx for the reminder.

I had a few...I remember a Butterfly, a wooden Sonic Satellite (that whistled as it spun) and finally, I got my "holy grail" yo-yo.....an Imperial. Thanks for the memories as well....I Googled Duncan Yo-Yo and found a lot of neat pictures and info.

Ah yes ... the beloved "Imperial"! I went out and bought a black one before that contest in 5th grade. My friends envied me. (Probably the last thing I ever had that anyone envied.

The Duncan Yo-Yo man used to come to all the elementary schools and do a demo and try to make a few sales.I think there was a guy that did the same thing with tops, man I haven't thought about that stuff in a long time.Tommy Smothers is quite the yo-yo performer-kind of the only one left.

I had one (or more) but I don't remember what model it was.

I bet if you went to YouTube and did a search you might find something interesting.

I'm trying to think of someting that costs $0.10.

One of the guys I was in the Army with had been a Duncan Top national champion and demonstrator before joining the service. He would do top shows for us in the barracks. Pretty impressive, when you are a 18 year old.
