DO NOT BUY FROM blingdaily.com!!!!!
DO NOT BUY FROM blingdaily.com!!!!!
I made the mistake of buying a watch from this website.
It is a very nice Casio watch that receives time signals from the atomic clock at Ft. Collins, CO.
This should give the watch VERY good accuracy.
The price was very good: it lists for $80 on Casio's website, and generally sells for $50 to $60. It was 'on sale' for $31, shipped.
I have been wanting a 'less expensive' looking watch to wear in the seedier parts of town: I have a 5 year old Citizen Skyhawk watch, and it LOOKS expensive. It's a REALLY nice watch, but ever since some disreputable looking guy in a store in a bad part of town commented on it, I've been a bit nervous wearing it when I go grocery shopping, etc.
So, I just happened to find this site one day, selling this Casio watch for only $31, shipped. That's within my budget: a NICE watch, at a TIMEX price.
It's one of those sites, like woot.com, that sells ONE item per day, at a very attractive price.
Well, the page for that day said the watch came with a box, USA warranty card, and instructions.
The watch came in a plastic baggie, in a bubble envelope. NOTHING ELSE.
No warranty card, NO INSTRUCTIONS, no box; not even a frakkin' PACKING SLIP. Which I would NEED, if I ever need warranty work.
And, predictably, dailybling.com has NOT ANSWERED my NUMEROUS E-mails.
Without the instructions, the watch is nothing but an expensive PAPER WEIGHT.
It came with the time WAY OFF, and I can't figure out how to set it: it has analog hands, but no crown. It's set through some sort of menu, which, without the instructions, I can't figure out.
That of course assumes the watch is not defective: pushing the buttons, in many different sequences, does NOTHING.
Even if I can get the instructions from Casio, this website is obviously FRAUDULENTLY selling either gray market imports, or perhaps defective watches they obtained somewhere. And of course NO WARRANTY.
Hence, the really low price.:steamed:
So: no BOX. no WARRANTY, no INSTRUCTIONS no PAPERWORK AT ALL.
I'm going to TRY to get my money back, but of course if this company is peopled by the CRIMINALS that sent me a watch in a PLASTIC BAG, instead of the box with all the usual paperwork, as advertised, I'm not thinking I'm NOT likely to ever see my $31, again.
So, DON'T make the same mistake I did: STAY AWAY from this website that DEFRAUDED ME.: blingdaily.com
TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!

That's messed up.
Can you get instructions on Casio's website?
Sounds like this was a refurbished watch.
As far as someone commenting on my watch, I don't care. I wear what I want, when I want. And I try to stay out of the bad part of town. But since anything can happen anywhere, elevate your situational awareness instead of wearing a watch you really don't want to wear.
A j frame in the pocket beats an inexpensive watch any day.

I LIVE in a bad part of town. I have no choice. When I bought my house, in 1979, it was NICE here. It was NICE for at least 20 years.
Then, .gov converted a HUGE apartment complex not too far away to section 8 housing.
NOW, the neighborhood I've lived in for 35 years is infested with crack heads, junkies, and tweakers.
I ALWAYS carry, but you know: I'd rather NOT have to shoot some crack head, because he saw my $200 watch, and figures he can mug and possibly kill me, and trade it for a rock of crack cocaine.
And NO, I CAN'T afford to sell my house and move, as MUCH as I would like to.
'Situational awareness' INCLUDES not HELPING to make yourself a target.
You SHOULD know that.

I DO know that.
But if you think a $20 watch makes you less of a target, you SHOULD know better.

A $20 watch, or one that looks like it, is what i WANT.
....so YOU wear your Rolex 18K Submariner, when YOU go to a store in the WORST NEIGHBORHOOD in YOUR city?
Here's my watch:
Amazon.com: Citizen Men's JR3060-59F Eco-Drive Titanium Skyhawk Chronograph Watch: Citizen: Watches
Except mine is stainless steel, not titanium.
I've had MANY people comment on it, but when a drug addled homeless guy tells me I have a 'cool watch, dude', it's time to be wearing a cheaper looking watch.

I have some nice ($$$) watches but rarely were them anymore. My cell phone has some really good time keeping features when I don't want to look at my Luminox. I believe and know from experience a good watch is made in Switzerland (but in todays times with some parts made in china ) not China don't settle for cheep sh.. stuff most crackers look for shinny metals not black tactical plastic and rubber things. Besides if I was ever involved in a "stick up" I'd be more inclined to tell the guy to walk away before someone got hurt, but that's just me.

Crack heads, junkies, and tweakers NEVER 'walk away'.
BECAUSE: they are DRUG ADDICTS, looking for their next fix.
They will do ANYTHING to get it, including killing YOU.
Asking them to 'walk away'....let me now how that works out for you...

I have two expensive watches. I go into parts of cities that most here would never think about going.
I seldom wear either of my watches. I carry a cell phone and it shows me the time so I do not need a watch. My car has a clock on the radio. I do not need a watch.
Have you ever noticed people that look to see what time of day it is and you can ask them what time it is immediately after they looked at their watch but they have to look again to tell you what the time is.
People wear watches out of habit, not for the time of day.
I wear a watch and other jewelry only when I am in court and that is to impress jurists that actually pay attention to how a person is dressed.
Just carry your cell phone. If it gets stolen, then the signal is cut off and becomes worthless to the thief.
Even a cheap watch is worth a small rock of crack so you are not safe by wearing a cheapie either.

I wear a WATCH so I can easily see what time it is.
I like analog watches, because that's what I grew up with.
I carry my cell phone in a holster on my belt.
Yeah: I REALLY want to get out my cell phone, and flip it open, so I can try to read the TINY digital clock display, each and every time I need to know what time it is.
Well, really: I don't. I'd rather just GLANCE at my wristwatch.
I've been wearing a wrist watch for a little more than 47 years.
I got my first cell phone LESS than 3 years ago.
Days, sometimes weeks, go by without any need to use it, and that's the way I LIKE it.

Go out on the front porch and wave. I'll be looking for you. It sounds like you live down my street. Since houses aren't selling, anybody who's in a bind soon rents when they can't sell. Rent's are high, and only section 8ers can afford them. So house's change renters about every 10-13 months. That's about the time it takes for the Lexus to be repoed and the renter evicted and I get a new neighbor with a different color Lexus. I am fairly concerned about being accosted on the street, or a break in with/without me being home. Gun next to me on computer table right now. I've got a box of watches. I rarely wear a watch as I'm recently retired. I'm lucky if I can remember what day it is much less the time of day. The creeps around here will rob you for a nickle.

Hi:
The day I retired, I put my watch (Timex) in a drawer forever.
What do I need with a watch? I don't have a schedule anymore.

One night when I was home on leave from the Navy, I went out to a bar with a very nice watch on, a diamond ring with 12 diamonds in it, and a nice gold chain. When I left three rather large dudes followed me out the door. The hair stood up on the back of my neck because I had a pretty good feeling that these boys just had to have my stuff. I made a beeline for my car and by the grace of god there was a white car nearby that was running and had two guys in it, looked like an unmarked police car with the little dog dish hub caps on it. I think that changed the minds of these three boys and they got in their car and drove away. Thougt as I got in my car that I could have been seriously injured or killed for a couple grand worth of stuff. I've never dressed that way again, just isn't worth it. I wasn't armed then, and even if I was I would have been in a very bad way. I'll just wear my stainless Invicta diver watch, which is a great watch by the way, and the crack heads will have to decide if a watch I got for under $100 is worth messing with me or they'd like to meet mister 9mm...... Bingo! Either you'll get the charge removed, or you'll get to communicate with the seller.

I haven't worn a watch in like five years, ever since I got a cell phone, which was just as well since I tend to destroy a watch in nothing flat, either smashing it while wrenching on a car, or tearing the strap/band while 4wheeling or winching something. Just easier to check the time on the cell.

+1. This was my point all along.
Regardless of the kind of watch you wear, if you allow yourself to be a target/victim, you will be.

Three times I've been put in the position of asking others to reconsider and leave the area. They've left. Two seperate events were recently, they realized too late that thinking a grey haired gentleman was a mark. No. I do not carry CCW. SRGVAZ is on to something that needs to occur more often.

Watches are nothing but jewelry. If you want bling, wear a watch and a ring or two. Top it off with a necklace and/or an earring or two.
I don't care to wear any jewelry. Haven't even worn so muxh as a watch in more than 35 years.
I am never late for anything. All cars and trucks have clocks. Very few homes don't have a clock in just about every room, same for businesses. You can't even drive down a city street without passing a time/temp display.
Then there are cell phones.
If I am somewhere where I have to know the time, all I have to do is ask, so why should I carry a time piece?
As to the watch you bought, it obviously isn't new . If it was advertised as new, dispute the charges with your CC. If not, enjoy the watch.

I don't live in your hood, that's for sure but I've done this and it does work in my towns bad side. I wasn't implying for you to try it, as it might not work for you. Your comment shows you are scared by them so your best bet is to run before you become a statistic. When someone approaches me I'm already two steps ahead of them, make that four steps if I notice it's a low life.

I'm glad I'm not the only one here, I stand my ground I don't want to put anyone down over a watch or cell phone so I give them the opportunity to stick their tail between there legs and walk away. I work with these kinds of people and they are very scared people who try and use that fear on others. Remember most of them don't think strait most of the time and that's the advantage we have. Stay vigilant my friends if they look at you, notice (recognize) them , then look away (wait a few seconds) and if there still looking, look right back at them harder and there will be no need for you CCW, and yes avoid bad areas of town when possible put the shinny stuff in your pockets (not the same pocket as your CCW), AND stay off your cell phone, AND pay attention to your surroundings at all times. Those people are ignorant for living like they do, but there not stupid they make $$$ begging, scamming, stealing, and government assistance. Some of them have a belief that there owed respect, and that is when they need a wake-up call that they are disrespecting, but sometimes they become statistics (unless they get you first) .

You know: you're right, I am scared of tweakers who want to mug and/or KILL me.
I'm 5' 5" tall.
I weigh 129lbs.
And, running from them isn't an option for me: I'm disabled.
I can walk, just not very well.
That, by itself, makes me a 'good target'.

Buying an $80 watch for $30 from a place called blingbling in order to feel safe flashing it in front of tweakers....? I'd say this plan has disappointment written all over it from beginning to end.

I'm sorry but the first thing that came to mind after reading this post was many, many years ago in a land far far away, an old Cheech and Chong skit with "Hey Man , wanna buy a Watch"?

When I was about 16-17 one of my friends was always running some "game". So in the '60's he'd go to Maxwell Street in Chicago and buy knockoffs and sell them back in the neighborhood. Hamilton was a pretty good name in watches. Fairly costly item. He bought some watches labeled "Homilton" and sold a bunch for 1/2 the price of the real item. They all turned green and crapped out in about a week. One big guy was really PO'ed and put a real hurt on my buddy. Same bud's dad was a baliff in the Chicago Cook County court. 8mm porno movies were illegal then. His dad would bring the confiscated movies home and we tried not to watch them.
