I am an impulse buyer so it is hard to list my dreams. I have gotten a couple of guns that I wanted for a very long time and was disappointed both times. On the other hand, I once got a buy on a pair of 640s. My wife and I cherrish them as near the top of the keeper list.

I am all over the place. I just bought a CZ 22 rifle and a Kahr P380. I guess I like S&W the best. Don

I think quite a few gun owners have a "grail gun" (or guns). The wonderful thing about gun collecting is that most of us do have the potential to acquire our grail gun at some point.

How many stamp collectors can say, "Yeah, I passed on an Inverted Jenny last week, condition wasn't right."?

A fine quality custom fitted O/U 12 gauge. Probably a Perazzi.

I am going to lose some of my following (if I had any) with this statement: Were I able to go back in time and select my gun battery, I would own a LOT LESS guns than I do now! I know pretty much of what model guns and barrel lengths I really like. Probley I would own maybe less than 10 guns total than what I have. I would have snagged the exact rare guns as they came out, or special order them way back when they were available.
What I wrote isnt exactly true, as I would have known what to buy to make big money on in this day and age. So what I am writeing is from a personal gun battery standpoint, basic keepers, not just to resell.
Today I have far more guns than I ever can use or really need. If I could get top dollar for about 3/4 of them, I know I should do it for my wifes sake. I cant bring myself to do it!

Many of us could say the same or similar.

While I have more than I need,, I have slimmed down and changed around to the things I like the best, mostly...

I still have some stuff I just like.

But I am considering thinning down a bit.

Guns I wish I hadn't sold: a Beretta 626 Onyx SxS 12 gauge with 26 inch tubes -- best pheasant gun I ever owned; my Hammerli 208s; a nickel S-series 27-2 with a 6-1/2 inch barrel and a blued pinned front sight.

Guns they haven't made (and won't): an HK squeeze-cocker in .45 ACP (well, actually I think they did make a couple for evaluation purposes).

There are certain trips I would like to take before I cash in, and dont because of being scared to spend the money. Yet I know there is guns in the safe that I probley will never use and when I croak it would be a mirrorical if my wife got near what they are worth, or what I could. Us humans are a unreasonable selfish lot! But I guess my reasoning is also that by some slim chance I live a lot longer and still have my mind, they are a good investment to sell as needed. I always have been a gambler.

I got my dream gun. Over the years I have owned hundreds of handguns, most well known brands with a couple of customs tossed in.

Then I bought myself one of the sku 170261 model 1911. It exceeded my wildest dreams. In fact, every hand gun I own has been placed in safes or stored away other than the S&W 1911.

Since buying it, three of my friends have shot it. Two of those friends have now each ordered one for themselves.

I do not have a desire to buy another handgun. What I have is pure perfection. My wish list is now complete.

My wish list really only has two entries: 1. Guns I wish I'd bought when I had the chance; 2. Guns I wish I'd never sold. Of course, the second entry includes every gun I've sold save one, a parkerized Ithaca featherweight 12 gauge pumpgun. It was nicknamed the Silver Kodiak due to it's vicious kick. It will never be missed.

Just one: An older Sako Mannlicher style.308 carbine. Without doubt the smoothest slickest handling rifle I've ever held. I see them advertised occasionally but just can't pull the trigger.

No joke. I would trade all my firearms (except Grandfather's Parker) for a Lewis Gun. Either caliber.

A Colt "Monitor", new in the box, with extra magazines, and enough ammo to last forever.

My dream gun for years was a 2.5" Combat Magnum. I finally bought one about 3 years ago. It's my single favorite firearm I own. Now, my dream gun is a 4" Python. I will have one by next summer.
