I've given them as gifts. My wife was less than thrilled. There's always a suspected aspect of it being a "ball named Homer". (From the old Simpsons episode where Homer's gift to Marge was a bowling ball that said "Homer" on it.)

I bought a beautiful 65-LS and had to gift it to my husband when I brought it home because he said, "What?? Another gun??"
"Oh no, honey, this one is for you."
"Oh! It's perfect!"

Oh yeah! Some years back my wife walked into a nearby gun store and bought a new Whitfield .375 H&H magnum for her beloved husband. She said it was worth the price just to see the look on the clerk's face.

Recieved a mossberg for Christmas from a live-in gf a few years back.
I ended up exchanging the gf, but kept the shotgun. Best decision ever!

Most recent was for Christmas a few years ago; an S&W M22 Thunder Ranch.
I’ve also received an S&W M625 .45 acp. years back for a birthday, and before that an American Derringer Model 1 in .44 spcl. on Christmas.

My fiance finished paying on a M17 that I'd had in layaway for a year! I was paying off $180-two bucks at a time. When she gave it to me for Christmas, she started crying-apparently, as she was walking out of the store a guy backed his car into her, and knocked her down-there went the gun. Sights banged up. Of course I was alarmed and rushed to open the box-not asking if she was hurt. Despite my inconsideration she married me-SW put on new sights-I still have the pistol-carry it in the woods to threaten squirrels.

At Christmas 1972 my wife bought me a Volunteer Arms Commando Mark III .45 cal. (Thompson clone)
I still have it.
Come to find out it's rather collectible.

I thought that was the reason to get a wife?
So she can buy presents.

This would be the case if I bought my wife a firearm. However, she was planning on doing some shooting with me this summer, until it was recommended against as she was pregnant with our second. Since he joined our humble family on July 30th, next year might be more promising.
Though I do need a 5th Anniversary gift for next month so........

Most recently, wifey and I exchanged new guns for our anniversary last week. I got the better end of the deal though...a Ruger LCP for her and a SIG 220 Elite for me! Woot-woot!

Yep, a Colt Python, a S&W Model 24, S&W Model 10, Winchester 9422M Trapper, and one or two others. I go down to the NAPA about the first of December and pick out two or three I like. My wife says Bill is her personal shopper.

My wife has never purchased me a firearm or ammo, just books and magazines. "Garden and Gun" magazine being the last one. I have purchased guns as gifts for my son, daughter, two brothers, father, son of a friend, and a friend.

My wife and I were newly married for about 6 months when I graduated college and she gave me a Ruger MKII stainless for a graduation present.
On our 5th anniversary she bought me a very nice Russian Tula SKS.
On my 35th birthday she bought me a Rossi Squire side-by-side double barrelled .410 shotgun. Not an expensive gun, but one of my favorites.
On my 45th birthday she bought me a very nice Colt model 1903 pocket pistol.
In turn, I bought her a Ruger 10-22 for Christmas when we were dating, then I bought her a H&R .410 single barrel shotgun for our first Christmas after we were married.
On her 35th birthday I bought her a Walther PPK/S (she hated it).
On her 36th birthday I bought her a Rossi .38 snub (Rossi version of the J Frame). She didn't like it either.
On her 40th birthday I bought her a very nice 80+ year old Remington model 51 in .380 ACP, which she really likes.
On her 44th birthday I bought her a Walther P22 which she loves.
On her 45th birthday I bought her a diamond studded gold necklace and matching earings which she loves even better (and cost me about what a Wilson Combat 1911 would have).
When my oldest son graduated high school I gave him a Ruger Bearcat. When he graduated college I gave him a Springfield XD in .40 S&W. When he got married last summer I gave him a Marlin 336 in .30-30.
I think a gun is the gift that keeps on giving.

I bought my wife a S&W 65 Lady Smith 3-inch barrel for our 1st Anniversary. She shot six rounds of .38 special. Ten years later, shot another six rounds - then she asks " are you satisfied now?"
She did want to trade for my GP100 with Hogue monogrip - but I wouldn't do it. The guys at the range might make fun of me

Yes, gave my wife a 642 with laser grips because 'I' thought it would be a good gun for her. She hated it and immediately went back to her beloved Glock 17. Lesson learned.
Have given my 21 year old son a .22 rifle and .22 pistol but I don't think he really appreciates them at this stage in his life as he is too busy chasing girls. He may appreciate them when he turns 50, if he still has them.
I have received two or three rifles and one pistol from my wife as gifts, all of which just happened to be the exact make/model I wanted. Funny how that works.

Before my wife got sick (ruptured aneurysm in her brain) we used to exchange guns on Valentines day. We did that for a couple of years after we got married.
One year I gave her a Ruger MK II, 22, and she gave me an XD-9. The next I gave her a Glock 19, and she gave me a Colt Commander.
Nothing says "I love you and I trust you, like a handgun." (quote from my wife).
My greatest gift was when she opened her eyes in the ICU room and said "Hi." Praise God!
Funny story sort of related. After she came out of the coma, I wanted to see how much her memory was damaged. I told her "I'm carrying your Glock today." She cocked her eye that wasn't swollen shut at me and asked..."Who told you, you could use MY Glock?" I replied, "Nobody, I just took it." She glared at me and said "You put MY Glock back in MY purse where it belongs. You've got your own guns." And went back to sleep.

Well...I have to say that 31 yrs is a long time. My thoughts are simple: Do you still have the 7mm Mag? Have you considered how much that gun cost you over the last 31 years?

To keep me from borrowing her Rossi 351 (.38 Spl+P - Snubbie)my wife gave me EAA Windicator (.357 Mag - Snubbie) for my birthday this year.
I have a S&W airweight snubbie, but it's designed to carry a lot and shoot a little, so after two or three cylinders full, I would "borrow" her all steel Rossi to get some more short barrel practice in while she was shooting her BDA 380. She was going to buy me a Rossi in SS so we wouldn't get them mixed up, but our local gun store didn't have a SS one in stock and my birthday was rapidly approaching, so she went with the EAA, which was blued, but looked different enough to avoid confusion. The EAA weighs about a ton, but I can shoot .38 Spl in it all day long without regreting it the next day.

Mine wouldn't know what to get, and although I'd be happy with whatever gun I'm given, I prefer to provide obvious and specific hints beforehand.
Last time was in 2006; I wanted a 460 XVR with the 14-inch barrel. I got what I wanted but that was indeed the last time. Spouse thinks I now have enough guns (but fortunately, does not think I have too many).

Yes. My wife actually gives me one or two guns a year. She goes to the indoor range/shop with me and talks to the owner (family friend of long standing) while I shoot and that results in me getting outstanding birthday and/or christmas gifts.
