No Flitz . . . frustrating
After a fruitless search for Flitz locally, my local ACE Hardware dealer offered to order it for me.
"You just missed our next order cutoff time but I can have you some on my next truck in TWO WEEKS."
Not being able to get it locally at all, and because he seemed so helpful, I said ok, and paid him to order it.
He called me two weeks later, on Friday, telling me it didn't come in . . . "It's out of stock but I'm sure it will be in on my next truck in two MORE weeks.
All I wanted to do was polish a few guns.
Where can I order the stuff to get it to "Hooterville," where I seem to live in central Georgia?
IMHO, it shouldn't be so hard to get a product that the gun community likes and recommends so highly . . . for I'm ready to gently polish this old, new friend up (as well as a few more guns too of course).
Thanks,
Tom

I bought a product called Metal-Glo from Cheaper that Dirt or Sportsman's Edge catalog, price was about $6.00 IIRC. It did as good a job as Flitz, try Brownell's for Flitz or Simi-Chrome they usually have both in stock.

oh yeah, i have scrubbed and scrubbed a brass brush soaked in hoppes then push cloth patches till their clean down a barrel. THEN push a flitz dabbed cloth through and see what color the funk is that comes out. same with the exterior i like to do a persons exterior rifle barrel and show then the oxidation that is going on that you cant see.
flitz it and forget it!
i bought a big box of paste and liquid off a tv informercial once. still using it. walmart should have it for a decent price.

Do they per chance have any Semichrome?
It works well too.
Get one of the big tubs of Flitz when you can!

Go back to Ace. Buy some Red jewelers rouge. $4.50 will buy a lifetime supply stick of the stuff. Same thing was issued to shine brass. (military) Rub a very little on a rag and have at it. Less messy than Flitz. Just take it easy till you get used to it.

Flitz at Amazon.com
Amazon.com has Flitz available. Just compare shipping costs from the different vendors though as costs can vary. If you have Amazon Prime it's delivered free in usually two days. There is an annual fee for the Prime service but if you are a regular Amazon buyer it pays for itself.

Thanks for the advice everyone, and especially to Mike. I just sent him an email to take him up on his kind offer to send me a little bit to tie me over. Great folks on this forum indeed!
I sent him a PM after checking out Walmart, AutoZone and NAPA again at lunch. Sho Nuff, you can't get that stuff around "Hooterville!"LOL
Mike, thanks again . . . and thanks to all our forum members who helped as always!
Hopefully my paid for order of Flitz will come in "faster than a paid-in-advance order for some Tylers!LOL

That Ladder13 is one heck of a guy!
As much as I love Flitz you might want to try Mothers Mag Wheel Polish which is easier to find at Wally Mart and auto stores. It works as well if not better than Flitz.
