Default Question About Captured Firearms Transfer

I guess you guys that have been responding to my WWII Walther Nazi Police PPK post saw this one comming

How does one go about transferring a gun like this. I presume it's never been registered in the US.

Anway for those who don't know a friend of mine is looking to sell a WWII Nazi Police Eagle over N/Eagle C 1940 Walther PPK that has the Capture Papers from 1945 and period correct holster.

As usual I appreciate any and all responses.

There is no national gun registration, never has been.

In some, but thankfully very few draconian cities and states, handguns must be registered with the state police.

If you are not in the few terrible localities that require "registration," the transfer of it may be made as applicable under federal and state law, which in most states (but not all) is that it can be sold or given to anyone that is a resident of your state so long as they are legal to own firearms under the U.S.C. Always check state and local law.

What state?

Andy I live in the Delaware County, PA. This is outside of Philadelphia's restrictive gun laws.

If I were to puchase this gun from my friend no transfer would be required?

Also, a neighbor of mine is holding 3 handguns in lue of $$$ that he lent to a family member. He has a signed contract indicating that if repayment is not made the guns will sold.

Will my neighbor have to go with the family member to transfer them to him and then do it again when he sells them?

I don't meen to bore you with this but I'm new to selling firearms and for the life of me I cant figure out all the lawer talk in the state and local laws.

Thanks again......

Not if y'all are both PA residents and are not convicted felons or convicted of domestic violence misdemeanors under federal law. You'd be legal with nothing more than a bill of sale, which isn't required, but is a good thing to have. State and local laws may be more restrictive.

Well, some Keystone State members who know will be along and fill in the blanks shortly.
