Default Mother Nature's Gorgeous Gift

I've seen all four changes of the seasons and the many varieties of weather changes in between. Nothing in my opinion matches the soft mantle of snow. It will turn the most mundane beautiful.

First snowfall in Albuquerque today.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. But we moved away from Wisconsin just to avoid that stuff. A lot of good that did us, since we have about 2-1/2 inches on the ground right now.

I am another wisconsin refugee. (With 40 years of california in between). I like some winter but dont need 6 months of it! The best part of winter is no lawn mowing. Wife does most of the shoveling while I do the high tech work of plowing with the quad.

Snow is great, IF you have the option of not going out in it if you don't want to.

Otherwise, it sucks.

Snow loses a lot of it's appeal as winter wears on. I took this photo a couple of days after last weekend's snow storm. I saw this buried car at one of my stops on Monday or Tuesday. Some poor soul has their work cut out for them, the drift goes all of the way to the top of the building which is probably 16' or better...

For those of you who hate too much snow...I can agree. Too much of anything is not a good thing. Here in my part of New Mexico we get about three to six snowfalls a year and a day or two later its gone. About perfect I'd say.

I spent four years in Yuma, Arizona. Each year about September or October we'd start getting the "Snowbirds", retirees who lived in the western states north of us. The migrated south in winter.

I always wondered about that, why retire and live in a climate you have to evacuate four to six months out of the yaer? But each to his own.

If I can survive the taxes and crooked politicians in New Mexico I'll stay here and visit the other places when its nicer.

Wink That is beautiful, but........

then there's this stuff.
I love rabbit hunting in the snow or just following a deer around half the day, but this stuff is for the birds
you are right, a good snow does make things kinda fairy tale like. Hides all the stuff I didn't get straightened up before the snow flies.
Merry Christmas to all,
gordon

We don't get much snow down here, but when we do it sure is pretty. Took this pic last February. Not my house, but only a couple of blocks down the street. It was all but gone by the next day.

I agree with you, Mr. Semperfi71, I love the fresh snowfall, and am fortunate that I don't have to go out in it except to feed the horses. And like central NM, central AZ gets the same routine: a few snowfalls a year and gone in 24 hours, usually.
