Some people have a lot of money and they don't care about cost - they want the item right now and will pay what ever it takes.
Ebay has always produced some crazy prices.
On the other hand, I've gotten terrific deals on Ebay and other auction sites because I searched and "looked under rocks" - sometimes things aren't listed properly, etc.

They're hoping for a n00b. Looks like this seller found one. It's easier than working for a living.

Another "J" frame #1 sold last week for $79.00.
Look for a dramatic price increase after the first of the year!

I have some of the very rare bronze ones...
I'll keep 'em for two bills, but for three, I'd think about it.

Geeeezzzzz,
I love those Tyler T Grips; I have one on almost all of my revolvers, but for that price, I'll take 'em off and ship 'em all out tomorrow!

I have Tyler T's on most of my S&W's, but have they suddenly become rare?

Because he jokingly posted these auction results in someone else’s WTB ad in the classifieds.

They're not rare at all. Most on this forum probably have at least a handful of them. Apparently, some people are willing to pay hundreds to have one now rather than place an order and wait a couple months for a T-grip to arrive in the mail. I couldn't believe it when I saw that one sold for over $200 this morning. I had to take a second look to see if it was a custom one-off made of pure silver or something like that. Nope, just another aluminum T-grip.

I just checked the website and the old man had a heart attack a couple of months ago, but the fam is filling backorders and getting production going again.
I guess it is time to place an order for a few and put mine on ebarf!

I have bought two in the last two months. One for $10 and one for $15. Bought them right off of used guns.

Eggzacaly how I found a Randall M14 a few years ago on Fleabay. Seller had it listed as a "Rendell", but it was clear from the pix that he had a typo in the heading and description. Ended up getting the M14 NIB for $225.00 shipped, the opening and only bid. Seller honored my bid price even after I offered him an out by telling him he had misspelled "Randall" as "R end ell" I have since bought a couple other items from the same seller, not listed on Fleabay, at a fare price.

I bought one for a j-frame at a gun show for $15 a month ago. I bought a pretty fair set of k-frame diamond magnas at the next table for $15. I paid the guy with the t-grip $2 for a screw that fit the magnas. They look pretty good on my 19-3. I decided I need to spend more time at the tables with grips, magazines, and such, and less time at the tables with hundreds of hunks of plastic.
I made a good friend on the GON forum a few years back whose screen name was Knifemaker. He and I met when his son bought a Marlin Camp 45 from me. We discussed the possibility of him carving something like t-grips from deer antlers. We PM'ed about it a few times, when he suddenly dropped off the forum. His son informed us that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the appendix. He died within the year. I still think it would be a good project for some of our craftsmen. I would pay $50 for a custom, antler-grip insert for a couple of my nicest revolvers. Maybe the time and effort involved would make them cost a whole lot more than that.
