This seems like a bad start to the New Year. Last year the LE fatalities were up.
God Bless the Officer, his family and friends.

I had the good fortune to share a patrol car on numerous occasions with then, Officer and eventually Sergeant Painter. I also had numerous opportunities to share shift responsibilities with him as well. We had many conversations in the small hours of the morning about being a police officer in general, and in a small town in particular, being fathers of teenage daughters, and loving the Lord. I learned that being a police officer meant not only being tough when required but being compassionate as well. He had enough trust and confidence in me to give me my first solo shift with words I'll always remember "You'll be fine." "Give me a call if you have any questions and don't forget to put gas in the car for me in the morning." He was a good Police Officer, a loving Father, and Grand Father. He had an unshakable faith and love for the Lord. He had a smile for everyone and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. The world is a lesser place due to his passing and he will be missed. Rest in peace my Friend.

Fredo-
at least we know he is HOME!
I am deeply saddened by the loss of yet another LEO. It is really getting ridiculous out there. God bless all the men and women who hold the line. Prayers for peace and comfort for the family already said.
