Smiths at ShotShow 2011
I saw pictures over on Gunblast of a few new Smith And Wessons at the ShotShow including a 1911 style gun and a .45 long colt/.45 acp/.410 six shot revolver called the Governor. Does anybody on here have more pictures from the ShotShow?

Once Caj expressed interest in the Taurus Judge on this forum, Smith and Wesson had to hurry their version, The Governor, into production.

Wow - that is ... even uglier than the Keltec shotgun unveiled recently!

There seem to be a LOT of smaller pistols this year. Many Compact 9s and .380s....
AND our beloved S&W has even (finally) made the Pink Camo Walther P22 available.
Who's running S&W???
AND
What's wrong with them????

Am I being monitored or bugged? That is basically what I said to the two guys sitting behind the PC gun display at the S&W booth a few days ago at SHOT. Neither said a word.
The Kel-Tec shotgun or whatever that ugly mostly PLASTIC apparition can be called...was THE "Mall Ninja" hit of the show.

I'm torn on who to blame for these ugly useless handguns.
The manufacturer? Well, they only care about money - so they will make it as cheap as they can, and still sell it.
The designers? Well, crack use is epidemic. Perhaps children can watch too much TV and maybe it does lower their IQ.
The gun buying public? Well, somebody is buying this ****. If they were not, we wouldn't be seeing so much of it year after year.
I think I'll blame all three. My 0.02 Regards 18DAI.

I noticed these shotshell revolvers on the S&W website a few days ago.
As ugly as they are they are still less ugly that the original. I bet they sell. (not to me)
Maybe they will take the profits form this and make a 6 inch target 632 so my wife can shoot PPC.
Hope they do well with it.

I wonder if a 460 would drop down the chamber of the Governor?

Well, I went to the SHOT Show this year looking to see good things coming out of Smith & Wesson. Instead, I find that S & W has followed in Taurus's footsteps to bring out a shotgun pistol. I asked the S & W sales people about the Internal Lock (IL) and was told, "Well, we have made some limited models (642/442) without the IL but the IL is here to stay. I did not spend much time at the S & W booth, but I did tell one of the S & W reps that I have been collecting S & W's for over 40 years and that it is a sad day when the big news is that S & W is copying a Taurus revolver, it used to be that Taurus would copy S & W revolvers and now the opposite is ture..... He didn't have much to say other than it was not an exact copy and that their new revolver could shoot .45 Colt, .45 ACP and .410 shotshells.... Well that made me feel much better.....

Glad that I am an old "Fuddy-Duddy"
After viewing these pictures, I am happier than ever that all of my S&W revolvers are "pre-lock" and of the more traditional design!
