Milk is oil?
Did you know that, effective sometime this spring, milk is to officially become a Hazardous Material? So sayeth the rocket surgeons at the EPA. Clearly, the lunatics are in full control of the asylum.
Milk is Oil, According to the EPA - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com
Think my dairy farmer clients are a bit unhappy? Most of them are teetering on the brink, even before this craziness takes effect.

Milk is worse than oil.....$3.09/gallon heating oil. Anywhere from $3.59 to $4+ per gallon of Milk. Which makes sense since milk is a renewable good.

The RedLine full Synthetic oil I just put in the 26 was $11.98 a quart, that's $47.92 a gallon. maybe I need a cheaper hobby like gun collecting. No, uh on second thought I'm doing that too and I'm going through my retirement that way just as fast

I could have sworn this would apply only to "raw organic milk".
Granted.. it's still ridiculous.

Aldi is in fact a German company. They've been in this country about 35 yrs.. I used to fix their cash registers. Their approach is extremely low overhead. Most stores have one mgr. on duty, and one to three cashiers. The mgr. unloads deliveries and generally works his/her butt off. They pretty much piloted the "generic" food approach and originally it was a really poor substitute. For many years now they've come up with good stuff and I think major brands are supplying there operation under the Aldi brand name. Around here they started in low income neighborhoods but in the last 4-5 yrs. have rapidly expanded to all but the most elite of areas. They introduced the "bring your own bag or box" theory much before anybody in this country thought of it. They generally manage to co exist with major chain grocery stores in the same shopping center, or right down the street.

So that's why my lawn died. I dropped a gallon of milk on the driveway. Silly me I thought it was from lack of rain.

Thanks JcMack,I wasn't aware they were here that long.I had to ask meine frau about it as I never go there. She says that its only as big as a Walgreens. So I get your point about overhead. The brands are pretty good that they have and the meat department has been pretty good. She laughs and says "I'm the only thing German in this store."I was hoping for some good brats but nothing.Yet.I guess they're trying the market.Funny part is most of the area is Hispanic followed by Hebrew and Blacks. We shall see.

I haven't worked in a dairy since the 1970s. But even back then we couldn't dump milk or whey down the sewers. Its nasty stuff! It also decays and smells really bad.
Not sure why the EPA got its ugly head involved, unless it was to equal the playing field between dairy's regulated in places with sewage plants and those in rural area's. Its just as bad to dump a few thousand gallons of nasty stuff in a field as in a sewage treatment plant.
Its not going to make your wife a criminal for dumping the last of a gallon of milk down the drain. What they're after is industrial dumping of bulk quantities. That or the Prez's wife thinks its making our kids fat....

Declaring, all by itself with no consent from Congress, that milk is a hazardous substance and shall be dealt with in the manner they prescribe under penalty of law(?), is a perfect example of what an out-of-touch, rogue, accountable-to-no-one agency the EPA has become.
They should not have the authority to issue a single regulation unless it is approved by the people, ie Congress.
In fact, Congress should abolish it and start over. The EPA has become the illegitimate enforcement arm of the anti-religious, The-Environment-IS-My-God crowd. If they can't get their way through legislation, they get it by Executive Order or fiats from dictatorial organizations such as this.
Creation of the EPA was perhaps Nixon's BIGGEST blunder.

^^^^^Well over the top!!
You should know it's not nice to pour used motor oil in a storm drain. No Sir, you should find you a spotted owl and lube him up good with that oil.
Hated to hear about milk being declared Hazardous by the Eee-Pee-Aye. Maybe the price will go down now so I can afford to drink a whole gallon every day instead of just a half gallon.

Milk is expensive? Years ago if anyone told me we'd be paying for water I'd have laughed at them. Next time you're in the store check the price of bottled water, esp. the designer brands, and you'll find per gallon it's more expensive than gas or milk.

IMO it's an indication that the EPA is doing a bit of job creation, within the EPA itself. If I were President, or a Member of Congress, seeing any government agency engaging in something like this would have me putting the entire agency under a microscope and looking at cutting their budget by a bunch.

***-This just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that my hard earned tax $$ are going to pay for inventive minds, always thinking in the EPA. We all know that the EPA is doing this for our safety and benefit, don't we?

I can see it now. The next time I spill a glass of milk, the hazmat team will be called out for the clean up!
