Default Still Looking for Work

Still looking for IT (network admin, desktop support), logistic or general office management work.

Judging from the just released unemployment figures, things are still rough. They sure seem that way.

Any leads would be appreciated.

PS - I'm also an NRA certified Basic Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home instructor.

Have you checked Craig's List? Not only for employment, you might post an ad there offering your services as a Pistol and Personal Protection Instructor. Keep the faith, I returned to work ten days ago after a job search that lasted eighteen months. Joint an employment networking group to keep current with job search strategys and meet others in your profession. If you are not a member of LinkedIn, that is almost mandatory in any effective job search campaign. Good luck!

This weekend, I'll probably be looking into a Craig's List ad for my PC services.

I belong to Linkedin, but really don't know what to do with it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Sir, think of LinkedIn as an electronic version of the grapevine, as in: "Hey, Ron, a buddy of mine at ABC Co. just told me they're looking for an IT guy. You might want to check 'em out." Look up and connect with your old co-workers and people you've done business with--the more, the better. Then put the word out among them that you're looking for work. You'll often hear about job opportunities there that never make it to the classified ads. You can also search out and follow companies there, and they'll often have job listings.

FWIW, I've gotten work this way a few times. It's a very useful tool.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Ron H.
