Default Won a gun at NRA dinner

First time attending our local NRA dinner... we weren't in there for 5 minutes, trying to figure out what we were supposed to do. Reading the program ... something about buying tickets and putting them in buckets.. lots of guns and stuff being given away. So I just say, lets do what it looked like everyone else was doing so I bought the $200 package deal. As we moved down the line to play the games ... they call a number out for a new gun raffle, it's my number!!! Yawhooo!! I won a Sigma 40cal. Ok, I'm happy, glad I bought the ticket booklet.
Now what do I do with it!! I have 4 M&P's, don't need this one at all... anyone got something good, equal value they want to trade... maybe a M&P15-22... or one of them BG380 's they don't like.. any idea's, PM me.. Hey Ladder..... didn't you want to trade a 1911PD for a Sigma... maybe someone has an old revolver.... or an IL that you're afraid of...

Do you already have the gun? Here the LGS provided the guns for such things. If you don't want what you won, you may be able to get something else from the dealer.

I never thought to ask, the LGS is one I prefer not to deal with. I just got the gun and left. It's too bad, cause the owner and one of the counter guys is decent. They got that one not so nice.. jerk that I let pull my string.. so I just grabbed it and left.. gonna post it up on our local NES board, maybe find a ftf..

Last time I won a gun at a "Friends of NRA Dinner" (and you should all go every year as they support the youth in shooting sports) I donated it to the High School rifle team to raffle off and raise money for equipment.

Was a S&w 22A, but we got over $550 out of it in a raffle.

Congratulations on your win. I hope to join you. I bought one of 250 tickets for the Colt 100 year commemorative 1911:

NRA / Colt 1911 Centennial Edition | The Firearm Blog

Dinner is next Friday. If I win I think I will try to find a collector who would be interested. Not sure I could bring myself to shoot it.

How bout that beautiful 10-8..... I just saw that today.... that thing is beautiful, I can't believe it isn't sold.. I was tempted to pm ya... But I'm in enough trouble.. I bought 5 guns, or put 4 on layaway and bought one.. Colt preban AR15-9mm is on the way to my FFL. I put 2 guns on layaway at my LGS, model 65-3 and a 18-2. Friday I stop at S&W Retail and range to run a box through my new BG380 and MarkIII hunter... pokin around the showcases, the girl tells me they have used guns for sale, almost 1\2 price off the range guns.. I put a Night Guard and a 10-14 on layaway.. they had 3 MP40's for like $300, but I don't need one... but $300!!! Everything is full warrantee.. how can ya loose if you want shooters...

Crash fest has begun!!!! Poor Jeffy..

this is even funnier..... I went to the NRA Banquet in Chicopee Friday night...... guess what happened.............. .................. ...................... I won another gun!!! a S&W 642... so that makes 3 NRA banquets and 3 guns!!!!! My table which was purchased by my local club, Pioneer Valley Sportsman Club won 5 guns!!!!! That's out of 45 guns and about 300 attendees... about the 3rd gun our neighbor were getting wrestles... I won't say what they said after the 5th gun....

As for the Smith and Wesson Range.... God, I miss that place!!!!

Back in the early 70's a guy I worked with was selling raffle tickets to raise money for his kids school. The prize was a REM 1100 20 gauge vent rib with IC choke. I won. A few days later another guy was sellig raffle tickets for his kids school. The prize was a Mossberg plain bbl 20 gauge. I won. After that guys would not sell me tickets.

Our club has a good relationship with the local police dept. Years ago the patrolmen's benevolent association was having a raffle for a new Harley at $100 a ticket, so we voted to buy a ticket just to be nice guys. We won. No one in the club wanted to buy the bike at what the dealer offered, so we sold it it to the dealer and put a nice check into our account.
