Pancho Villa's nephew's .44?
I saw a news story today where he's now a police chief in Mexico and seems to be a pretty tough cookie.
It said he keeps a rifle and a .44 caliber pistol called "mi negrita" — "my little black one."
I'd be interested to know what brand of gun it is...perhaps a S&W .44 Special?
Of course, it is likely the news writer didn't get it correct and it might be a .45 auto of some kind.

Isn't the "a" ending feminine, so "negrita" would be "little black girl"?

I can barely speak English, much less Spanish. I guess if you're a cop, it's OK to have a gun larger than a .38?

Did you hear what the Spanish fireman named his two kids?
Hose A and Hose B.

It refers to whether the noun is a feminine noun or masculine. Neither has anything to do with the sex of the person. "Mi dedo" is my finger whether you are male or female. Negrita could be "my little black wife" as well depending on how it is used in the sentence.
Back to the original topic I can't say for sure that Villa had kids or not. I don't recall anything about that. I do remember something about fighting for his sister honor at age 14 so nephews/nieces are very possible.

Press 2: Translation
I beleive that the phrase "Mi Negrita" is correct. It translates as "my little blackie."
.....
Retired General Carlos Villa Castillo is exactly the kind of no nonsense figure needed in the Mexican LEO community. Given the rampant corruption amongst the state/local police agencies and the nature of the organized criminal/cartels, the trend toward hiring former military brass to head civilian LEO agencies in a growing trend in Mexico. Villa Castillo fired the fat, lazy and corrupt cops and hired more reputable officers who undergo regular bg ckecks, etc.
FYI: I have read that many military brass in Mexico's armed services love having S&W revolvers for their personal collections. I have also read that one of the most sought after sidearms for cartel leaders and criminal bosses in the 1911 in .38 Super.
