If you could witness a historical event...
If you could witness an event in history, what would it be? Personally, the Battle of Jutland, the Battle of Mobile Bay or the CSS Virginia vs the USS Monitor would be right up there.

I always used to lament to my father that he had been so lucky to have been in the first wave of the Invasion of Normandy at Juno beach, and to have survived, and seen it all.
His reply was usually; "Yeah. I was lucky."

Lexington and Concord.
I wouldn't have minded seeing (from a suitable disance) the meteor strike that produced Meteor Crater in Arizona. I'd REALLY liked to have seen the one at Chicxlub (sp?) that did it for the dinosaurs.

One more...
Before Senator Jack Ryan walked into the stripclub I would smack him and send him back home to his wife. For those that don't know him, Sen. Ryan (better known for his now ex-wife actress Jeri Ryan) went to a strip club, got into a scandal and resigned. His seat was taken over by a then unknown Barack Hussein Obama.

Well, I guess I would have offed hitler. But my biggest fantisy would be to take a team of good recorders and modern equipment, go back in time and interview many people to publish. Founding fathers, mountain men and the like.

The Declaration of Arbroath, April 6th, 1320. This document "which asserted Scotland's sovereignty over English territorial claims, and which was an influence on the American Declaration of Independence" in conjunction with the Magna Carta in 1215 form the basis for the recogntion that no man is above the law, that all men have rights, and that leaders are ultimately responsible to the people they lead.

A Witness to History.
If I could I'd like to have witnessed the meteor strike in Russia back in 1909, Krakatoa eruption, and maybe Pompeii too. Lucy and the rest of her tribe strolling thru Kenya. The caves being decorated in France a way back when.

Yup. I think the pictures might have swayed a few politically-motivated Senators. A picture is often worth a thousand words.

Dec. 6, 1941 at Pearl Harbor so I could tell someone "Hey the Japs are attacking tomorrow!"
Put me on a landing craft at Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944 with an M1 Carbine and a Registered Magnum on my hip.
Go back in time to the 1950's and go to a Major League baseball game so I can see how the game is really supposed to be played before guys got paid $15 million a year and need steroids to perform.
Go to Paterson, NJ in 1836 and see the first commercial Colt revolver being made.
Be a Colonian militiaman at Lexington, KY to fire the first shot of the Revolution.

The signing of the Magna Carta in 1215. It is considered to be the foundation of constitutional law, recognizing the natural rights of the individual.
The Constitutional Convention in 1787, to warn them not to do it. George Mason was right.

I wouldn't mind being with James Marshall while he was inspecting the mill-race at Sutter's sawmill on that January morning of 1848.
Seeing the shoot out at the OK corral from Fly's photo studio would be exciting too.
