In my very modest collection of Smiths I have just a few nickel-plated revolvers. I didn't buy them because they were nickel though . . . I bought them because they were nice specimens that just happened to be nickel plated.
I bought this one from a forum member almost a year and a half ago. He mentioned a few little imperfections but he was wrong . . . this thing is stunning, IMHO, and thus I haven't had the heart to shoot it yet.
My square latch M36 had the faintest turn line when I bought it about 2 1/2 years ago. It shoots extremely well and has number-matching diamond stocks!
Going back further in time, is this 1950 M&P with a 5" barrel. It shoots as nice as it looks, a fine specimen indeed with number-matching stocks. It came from a retired, deceased gun shop owner's collection.
And my last one, and the oldest. Also from the former gun store owner's collection, and a great shooter too!

3rd Model, Model of 1926, Wolf & Klar. Shipped in the late '20s, factory refinish in the early '50s. Ivories by Don Collins. Postwar medallion.
Been thinking in a sorta desultory way of re-case coloring the trigger and hammer one of these days. Maybe.

The first S&W I ever owned was a nickle-plated 4" 19-2 that I bought from a police officer in New Orleans. Later I had it fitted with a target trigger and target hammer. With the target stocks it was beautiful. I gave it to my father after graduating from seminary. It is now almost 30 years later. My father is deceased. A family member earlier took the revolver. I hope one day to find another 4" nickel-plated Model 19.

Pics aren't so good but the guns are near new.
581 with a mod 19 in the background
and here's a 19-3 that I bought to get the stags. I kept the gun, too.

That fine little holster is unmarked but could rival a Myres anyday. It was in a box of holsters my dad had and no doubt was found at a garage sale up in the sierras where he lived.
