Default Military Biographies

Is there an on-line source for military biographies, something like a dictionary of military biography?

Are you wanting to write a "mil bio" for yourself, or researching military biographies? If you're wanting a mil bio, I have examples I could forward.

I hate being obvious, but if you know the author's name, you can search by that. But if you're just looking for who might have written about his experiences in a certain war,
all I've ever thought of was to browse the appropriate area at the library or bookstore.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea. I just didn't want you to think that nobody was interested because of the few posts. Good luck. This is a good question.

I'm looking for the bio of a MG Turner. I don't know his first name. In the 1960-70s he was Provost Marshal General of the Army, the chief MP. I googled MG Turner, but didn't find anything about him.

He was court martialed for misappropriation of public property, so I don't think an application to the MP historical section for information on him would be well received.

I know there are dictionaries of military biography in print, but I don't know of one on line, any help gratefully accepted.

Thanks, jeffsmith, you're a better researcher than I. I'll have to find a short bio of him, to see how he got out of the charge of misappropriation of government property.
