Thank you
I just want to take this day to thank all those who gave us freedom back 67 years ago.
A special thought for their families.
God bless America

Wess,
Thank you for remembering them.
As I told anglaispierre in another thread, I know the French often take a bashing from us nowadays because of some stances and actions by the French government since WW II.
I find that sad, and about as logical as blaming the average US citizen for the actions of our politicians.
Godspeed.

I can't imagine being in the front of an LSI, knowing when that front drops the whole German army is shooting right at you. Or 'chuting behind enemy lines at night, being in a glider, or in the Merchant Marine in the North Atlantic, at the mercy of the Wolf packs. My words cannot express my gratitude. God bless America, God bless them all.

I've had the pleasure in riding in a couple mike boats with the ramp. Nice warm sunny weather its fun, but when the sea gets going and the wind picks up its no fun. D Day 6 June 1944, and I agree that they should be remembered. When I rode the mike boats no one was shooting at me, unfortunately they were being shot at. Rest in Peace you did your job well. Frank

Wess, awesome post! I see that our father's and grandfather's did not die or suffer in vain. To have you acknowledge them means the world to me.

Wess;
Thank you for remembering them and their sacrifice. As the U.S. troops said at that time "Lafayette we are here". Thank you.
