This was your neighbor? Crazy.

On a lighter note, you aren't one of those neighbors with a sign pointing to his yard that says "my neighbor doesn't like guns..."?

He was expecting someone? Two large men and a woman that are unidentifiable?

He didn't know if he let them in or they broke in?

He didn't know if he tried to fight?Did he get blind sided?

Strange,Is the victim mentally stable?

Something don't add up or am I missing something?

with the lemon sized knot on his think tank, I would not expect too much memory retention.
rather sobering seeing how it spilled over to one of ours here ... its not just another news clip when you have a live person connected to it

Agreed.Memory retention I've thought and forgot about a lot in my life.
I've been out cold before and still remember the before.I can understand the fuzzy thoughts after though.
In my minds eye he's hiding something or he's confused ether before the lump on the head or after. If he's confused after such an ordeal he better get checked out for brain injuries.

I'm not trying to insult anyone hear or there but it is an interesting report and I read things as I see them.Maybe just some bad reporting.

When I was a security guard for lockheed in california I picked up a super dirty intruder that must have rode a freight car in delivering parts. He asked me what state he was in and told me the last thing he could remember he was in texas! He was all bloody and stinkin beyound belief. Probley was rolled. It happens. Another time I got a call from a woman in the plant that there was a guy in the womans rest room. He was all disorientated and couldnt talk at all. Here again he was filthy beyound belief. Even the fire dept wouldnt escourt him to the hospital and I had to ride the ambulance with him. When I was able to figure things out I found he had been fired something like close to a month before and I figure he was liveing in the hanger attics like the hunchback of notre dame! He probley lived off rotten half ate sandwichs the workers threw away etc. Then about a month or two after I had found him I seen his composite picture in the local paper wanted for some serial rapes. I informed the sheriffs who they are looking for. I didnt keep up with the case after that.
I once took my best friend to a wrestling match. He hit his head on the floor off the mat. He finished the match but I could see he was disorientated. Latter another wrestler came and told me he went crazy in the shower. I went in and got him. He was totaly out of his head and didnt know me and tried to fight me. I think he was held in the hospital on that one for about 3 days. These storys are understandable to me.

What the victim had is called retrograde amnesia. Here is the definition from Wikipedia :

Retrograde amnesia (RA) is a loss of access to events and information of the past after the onset of disease or injury .[1] RA is often temporally graded, consistent with Ribot's Law: more recent memories closer to the traumatic incident are more likely to be forgotten than more remote memories

Cool

Knock on my door at 5am and I will have a pistol in my hand if/when I answer.

This is where 'castle-doctrine' laws are needed. In todays politically correct , criminal coddling world , some state laws say if someone breaks into your home , you must retreat. Many times , the advice from police is to give the intruder what they want. Don't fight back , don't resist and don't arm yourself. You are obviously guilty of having something someone else wants.

to retreat from a war means packing up and going home.
while at home, where does one retreat to?

What I love about Texas is we have the "He Needed Killin' Laws". Somebody breaks into your house or home, they are paid for.

In TN we have the legal assumption that intruders in your home are there to do you extreme bodily harm.

Maybe I am too soft in my old age. Looking back at it I recall at least 3 people I would have been well justified in shooting but gave them a pass. I would like to know what they are doing now and if I made a mistake. However, at the time I wasnt old either.

I visited Mr. Gresham today, he is doing pretty good considering how he was beaten. I am also taking him to the LGS tomorrow when I get home from work.
