new safe in garage
i picked up a safe its to big to tack in to the basement i will have to leave it in the garage my other safes are in the basement im worried about if the change in temp will be hard an the guns i woulnt put the good stuff up there but with all the flooding around here its nice to have a back up out of the basement should i run a dehumidifier in this won any one have any input or an opinion

My safe is in the garage also (since 2004). I have a goldenrod in it. Cold has not hurt my guns any. I placed some 1/4 strips of oak under the safe to keep the safe off the floor.

I would go for the pics. Then a geographic location for the humidity / security in the garage questions.

Only 400 lbs and some lags?
If in the garage, my guess is a logging chain (or two) and a full sized 4wd truck would leave skid marks out the garage and down the driveway. That's what they are doing around here with ATMs both inside and outside businesses.

Mine too is in the garage. No problems with proper dehumidifier. Set mine up on wood too.

Bolt it down. Use gun socks and a golden rod or desiccant.

I just bought a bigger safe 700-800 lbs....it's going in the house, to purty for the garage.
