Default My new favorite seasonal summer beer

Buffalo Bill's Brewery Orange Blossom Cream Ale. Delicious. It has a hint of Creamsicle. I discovered it last weekend. Cool looking bottle and label with a bright orange TWIST OFF cap that doesn't indicate it's twist off. Love that. Saw threads after popping my first with a church key. Highly recommended. What are you all enjoying? Anything I should know about?

Drank about a gallon of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Thursday night. Fat Tire always tastes good in the summer.

That said, at the Cubs' game yesterday I had Bud Light...all day.

And, my "go to" summertime beer whilst engaged in something physical remains Natural Light. Straight outta the can. You won't likely find me drinking it from October through April, but nothing tastes better or goes down easier after mowing the grass or hitting golf balls into the woods.

Be safe.

To paraphrase Will Rogers "I never met a beer that I didn't like."

Some better than others though.

Shiner Bock is my favorite beer. Brewed right here in TX. Once upon a time, Shiner was known only by locals. Now I think its gone national. So its no longer a small scale operation. This probably turns off a lot of beer affectionados.

Another really good hot weather beer is Blue Moon. This beer also has hints of orange.

I used to imbibe of only the finest microbrew ales, porters and stouts. Then my educated daughter introduced me to Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat, with a twist of orange. It's my drink of the summer. Well, this summer, anyway!

The best beer is "Other Peoples" because its free and when its gone you have your designated driver take you home.

Last leg of my travels take me through Somerset, PA, today where there's a huuuuuuge drive-through beer distributor. (PA is the only state that seems to have these...they're for the public/retail but look like commercial beer distributors.)

Gonna inquire if they have the Buffalo Bill; no one has heard of it in Chicago, Indiana, or Ohio. Yes, of course I will check at home.

Be safe.

PS: The St. Pauli Girl and Anchor Steam previously referenced are always on my "to drink" list.

Hacker-Pshorr Heffe Weise, German wheat beer! It is the most refreshing beer I have ever had (and I've tried quite a few!)
Enjoy :~)

Once I tasted Wadworth 6X I just couldn't drink regular beer much anymore.

Wadworth :: Store

But I would need a constant flow of it to put up with British gun laws, so alas, no more 6X for me...

My usual year-round beer is Summit Extra Pale Ale, with an occasional Bell's Two Hearted for a change of pace. For summer, or if I'm in he mood for something less hoppy, then Bell's Oberon or New Glarus Spotted Cow. Every once in a while, I might take a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, but just one. I would not want to get in the habit of drinking lemonade and calling it beer.

+1 on the Abita-very crisp, light with just athe slightest hint of strawberry on the finish.
When I was In Wisconsin a few years back, I found the New Glarius Spotted Cow as well as the squirrel nut brown ale-wonderful. Whils in Ashville NC I found the Highland Brewery selections to be first rate.
When I travel, I always try to drink the local brew and have never been disapointed.

Got spoiled drinking beer in Eastern Europe. The Czechs and Germans with 100's of years of experience, REALLY have it down pat. Pilsner Urquell, Staropramin, Becks, Warsteiner, so many great pilsners.

Always seize the opportunity to try new things. I was traveling today and tried a Magic Hat #9. Seemed pretty good so I tried 2 more to be sure......yep pretty good.

I drank my very first Abita last night, a couple of Turbo Dogs while I was grilling shrimp seasoned with Creole seasoning, and two pretty nice ribeyes marinated in Allegro marinade. I really like this beer, but it's hard to find in Northwest Alabama; I bought mine at a Kroger in Huntsville, but I'm going to keep a lookout around here for it.

I'm with Caj about Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC. They have several good seasonal beers, but my favorite one is their Octoberfest beer, Clawhammer. I can find it in Columbia, but since I'm usually in the mountains in Fall, I get a couple of cases in Asheville to bring home. That way, I can drink my favorite seasonal all year long (it obviously isn't the only thing I drink).
