Default Observations from local gun show today...

I attended a local show here in the St. Louis area today. It's was 100 degrees outside so I thought I'd do something indoors.

I saw quite a few Colts (Diamondbacks and Pythons) and S&W (Hand Ejectors, K-frames, N-frames, you name it) revolvers for sale... more than I can recall seeing in quite a few years. Attendance seemed low and the vendors were complaining about how most people were wanting to sell and not a whole lot of buying was going on.... the economy no doubt. Vendors said most people were buying the plastic semi-autos or the "cheaper" brand revolvers (Taurus).

I was very tempted by a nice 5" 27-2 and a 4" 28-2, but I restrained myself. I'll probably regret that tomorrow, but the sellers weren't allowing much wiggle room on price in spite of the alleged slow sales.

Anyone else noticing the nice Colts and Smiths becoming more available at their local shows?

I too was at a local gun show today. However, the selection of Smiths were nearly non existant. I did find two that got my attention, a M12-2 and a M57 no dash. Both were in good to very good condition, but priced way too high. So, to answer your question, no I am not seeing many older Smiths at local guns shows, and the ones I see are pricey.

Dealers "move" less at the slow shows. They will be more likely to deal if they have made the "table rent" early. Joe

Atlanta Farmer's Market?? I saw what I believe to be a 6906, a 5906, and one other full size 3rd gen semi-auto; I wasn't looking at the revolvers. Prices were a little high in my opinion.
