Default Old JC Higgins Cooler

I found this in the basement a while back but never really looked at it until today. This belonged to the former resident and still works just fine. In fact, it still has the box it came in from a Sears & Roebuck from Staten Island. I don't know when JC Higgins finally stopped making stuff, but this old cooler is very nice. The inside was very clean and the old cork on the bottom was still in excellent condition. Any idea how old this is?

As I've heard it, J. C. Higgins was an accountant for Sears. The name had a nice ring to it, so they used it on their branded line of sporting items. These products were all made by other companies to Sears specifications.

Simpsons-Sears started in 1952, so it's no earlier than that.
