Talking Going to the Shedd aquairium

I am taking my wife and daughters to the Shedd Aquairium today, I thought about taking the train until I found it would $44.00 per person for round trip. So I will drive there.

Never been there before so it should be fun. I wonder if I can bring my pole.

You probably can't take a bang stick, spear gun or dynamite either.

Have fun! My wife and I visited the aquarium years ago when I was on a business trip in Chicago. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Shedd is a great experience. There is a fish there called a "guitar fish", related to a ray, looks like a shark. Make sure you see it.

A few years ago my family and I went to the big aquarium in Atlanta. I walked up to the cop at the metal detector and told him that I'm carrying a gun and could I please enter with it? He laughed and said NOBODY takes a gun in there. They didn't have any place to securely store a firearm so I never did get inside. Too bad. But I'd rather miss the aquarium than walk around in downtown Atlanta unarmed.

Shedd is a nice aquarium and they have some rare and delicate seahorses. Gino's Pizza a good meal. My wife loves Chicago for the shopping. Enjoy.

My family and I have enjoyed multiple visits to The Georgia Aquarium as well as other sights in the adjacent area. We have never had a single instance in which we had any sort of problems at all. This past summer all of our extended family flew down for the wedding of my youngest daughter. After the wedding we all went to Atlanta and had a wonderful time touring the aquarium. To put it mildly, they were impressed. Given that they hail from NYC and Boston, I find this remarkable. They normally have the attitude that we in the south are somehow livings in a cultural ghetto. Next time, just leave your ccw in the car/truck, etc. and join the rest of your family for a nice time. There's lots to see and do in Atlanta! You will find Atlanta has a lot to offer. Of course like any other major city, Atlanta is not A.A. Milne's Hundred Acre Wood! If you decide to wander down into some of the more "challenged" areas of town, you'll need to keep your eyes up! Cheers!

It's a really nice place. I wonder if the alligator snapping turtle is still alive? It was ancient when i was a kid.

I used to go there a lot as a kid... of course I also used to sit on the grass with my father and watch the planes take off and land at Meigs Field...

Parks, beaches and similar venues seem like a really bad place to be in Chicago these days. I'll reconsider when Illinois starts issuing non-resident carry licenses.

If I visit my mother this Christmas, there won't even be any Borders book stores to occupy my time. I guess I'll just sit in her living room and read online gun boards...

Hope you have a good time.

We took the 5yo twin grandsons seperately to the Duluth, MN aquarium earlier this summer. It's good to see stuff through the eyes of a kid once in a while. Took one of them out Friday evening fishing, and the other Saturday morning. They both tied into a 22" northern. Fun! In their words we're going to "roast them up for supper" tonight.

We just took them to the Forest History Center 1900 logging camp in Grand Rapids. Tomorrow we take their 3yo sister to the logging camp. Should be interesting.
