From what I hear a K/L frame grip will fit. Let me know how soon the ambulance arrives after you fire the full house loads without a set of Goodyears on the thing

I would get metal knurled grips and shoot it weak handed unsupported, but that is just me.

I've shot my S&W 500's with wooden Herrett Jordan Troopers weak handed unsupported many times AND with full house loads.
And that's just me

It's really not as difficult as some people think. Because of the design I like the Troopers better than the factory rubbers and to me there is less perceived recoil. There have been days I've put over 100 rounds through it and enjoyed the shooting session. Shooting gloves do help also.

Kidding aside, there is theoretically no reason why you could not comfortably shoot hot loads in an unpadded X-frame if you have wide enough stocks to spread the recoil out over a larger area of your hand's palm and heel. Your wrist is still taking the full brunt of the kick, but that's pretty much true if you are shooting with rubber.

Still, I'm kind of a wuss about those big guns, so when I shoot my 460 and 500 I do so with factory rubber in place.

And yes, K/L frame if you want to dress your blaster differently.
