Help what?
Which gun?
1911?
You can ruin a 1911 by *polishing* it's feed ramp incorrectly.
(Well, just the frame - the other parts won't necessarily have to be replaced, but some will need to be fitted to the new frame)
Many have killed a perfectly fine 1911 by trying to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place.

If your pistol feeds properly there is no reason to polish the ramp except for cosmetic purposes. If it just has to be shiny, you can put a dab of Flitz on a soft paper tissue and polish the metal with your finger. That kind of polishing won't harm anything.

Unless, of course, it's Lightweight Model with an alloy frame.

I had the ramp on my Gold Cup polished and the barrel throated over 30 years ago. It still works just fine. I sent it to a well known 45 smith at that time.

I had a Systema that a prior owner polished the "step" (1/32" transition from frame to barrel) to non existance. I took the gun to to a smith known here for his 1911 work. As I watched, he removed 1/32" from the rear of the barrel. That restored the "step". Before I could stop him he milled a "smiley" throat in the barrel. I never trusted that gun after that. It seemed to function well but I was afraid of the obvious problems. I've had a lot of autos in the past. Most feed ramp problems smooth themselves out after 500 or so rounds. Polishing before that count seems like jumping the gun.
