Curious if anyone has had personal experience using Frog Lube. I have been using Hoppes #9 and various lubricating oils for most of my life. A friend told me yesterday, he just ordered some Frog Lube because he heard it just works better and was going to give it a try.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Frog Lube sounds interesting until you get to the part of heating up the gun or gun parts in order for best performance.

For the past 4 years the only product I have used on my guns for cleaning, oiling, and protection is Weapon Shield CLP and their grease. Does all that Frog Lube does minus the heating procedure. Bill

"Heard it works better"? What's it going to do, add 20 horsepower to your M&P and improve gas mileage? Frog Lube is the current Mall Ninja craze in lubricants, it probably started on the M4c forum. I can guarantee it doesn't do anything better than what I'm currently using.

That is why I am asking the question. Thanks for your insight.

I obtained a sample, used it on my duty gun and couple of others.
You use a hair dryer heat it to touch I used the paste cover the exterior of the gun and run a patch with it down the barrel then let it sit over night wipe down. The gun runs great easier to clean and on the exterior a very good rust prevenitive. Give them a call they will tell you all about it the woman who runs the business is very knowlagable.
Also you can you tube it. Im satisfied.

What are y'all greasing up them frogs for?

I'm having nothing but good results from Eezox. I felt bad for all the little frogs so didn't try Frog Lube...

There's a distributer on Calguns that was pushing it pretty hard. He'd pounce on every single "What cleaner..." thread quicker than a G**** fanboi on a "Which gun?" thread.

Some of the people who tried it had good things to say. Don't recall any negatives. It's supposedly non toxic and doesn't stink the place up.

I haven't tried because what I use works fine and if I messed up my wife's hair dryer I'd be in deep kim chee!

I was also a bit put off by the aggressive promotion. Almost Amway-ish. Not really a valid reason but there ya go.

If you thought your frog was hard to catch before, just wait til you lube him up real good.

Let me understand this.. I have to have a hair dryer and access to electricity to use this product? That kind of kills it if you are lets say outdoors somewhere or on my patio with no electrical connection. I guess no field strip with this..

I gave Froglube a try just for the helluvit. From what I've noticed, it's absorbed into the pores of the heated metal. After the parts had cooled, I wiped them down with the microfiber cloth that came with the Frogsnot. Everything felt dry, but slick. As I fired the weapon and brought it up in temperature, the lube started "sweating" from the metal. It does work very well as a cleaner and seems to be a good lubricant. I use it on a couple of pistols, but use other products on the rest. I wanted to come to my own conclusions, rather than fully trust the opinions of those who have or have not tried it. I like it.

BTW, a sunny summer day is plenty good for heating the parts.

Never tried Frog Lube........hell, I never heard of it either!

I have been using a lube for 30 + years now. It is called RIG #2 Oil, NOT to be confused with RIG Universal grease. They only thing they have in common is that they are both made by the same Company (Birchwood-Casey).

Rig #2 oil cleans, lubricates and prevents rust. The really nice part of this product is that it evaporates and leaves a dry lubricant behind. I like that because the lube will NOT attract dust, grit or dirt. It will also not get all over your clothing because by the following day the carrier has evaporated leaving behind the protective coating. I have NEVER had any rust appear on any of my firearms, even when caught out in a down pour during a Pheasant Hunt. I use this product on tools, the cars, the motorcycle, and all around the house. IT IS GREAT!! It's also nice because you do not need a separate solvent. This ONE product will do it all. AND......it even smells good.

This product sounds like Militec 1; spread some on a part, heat it with a hair dryer for 10 minutes or so, wipe off the excess. The part is left dry but slick. If you can deal with the hassle and time expenditure of the heating, it's a pretty good way to lube things.

Since this isn't amonia based should be ok for electro-plated nickle? I don't want to try it until I'm certain there isn't something in it that is as bad or worse than amonia.

OK, I never heard of the stuff til I read this thread. Then I went shopping for a dealer. The way I feel is it has to be ordered. Fair enough but then there is a huge price difference between stores.

Is there any chain stores that carry it so I can read the label? More than half their website is down and info on the stuff seems sparse.

I am not knocking it but want to know a little more about it before I decide to buy or not. Nobody can afford to buy all the new products that come out almost daily, many of which is just advertising hype or endorsements by those that are easily impressed with anything new.

I have used it for about the last 18 months. It does work very well. Although they recommend heating up the gun I have never done this. I lube the guns cold and they work just fine. It has also become my first fix for other peoples problem guns on the range. I am sure all the other stuff that is being touted on this thread works as well. I can recommend Froglube without reservation.

I use Slipstream from Crusader Weaponry.
I had used all of the various lubes and never found much difference between most of them.
Gave Slipstream a try... and all I can say is... damn.
CLP, Militec almost seem like glue in comparison.
I loan my bottles out to friends, and all that have used it are buyers now.
Not cheap, but there is nothing like it that I have found.
