Wink Saw a real collector's piece

Was at Shooter's on Friday and was picking up my guns and a man walked in. He wanted his old pistol test fired. it was a .25 Auto. I looked at it and saw that it was a desireable Raven 25 atomatic. It did fire but jammed up twice with one magazine.

I traded an old Snapper push-mower for a FN Browning 1906 .25 auto(6.35mm).

Go offer up your lawn mower for the Raven..them's classic handguns they don't make anymore!

I saw a kid shooting one at the range awhile back. He fired 50 rds. and it jammed 6 times. I asked if he had fired it before and he told me this was the 4th box he'd shot through it! That MUST be the highest round count for a Raven

4 boxes? Good Grief! Thats at least twice its design life!

A good .25 is a fun plinker though.

Here's mine:

12 rounds at 5 yards, basically lining it up using the tunnel on the slide. Yes, there are 'sights' in the tunnel but I can't see them without a magnifier!

Thats a 3" square Post-It.

Not bad for a 93 year old hideout piece.

Regards,

Pat

They thought he wanted it repaired, and he said no they said good because we don't fix them. He did have a nice Hunter holster for it.

I owned a Raven .25 briefly...it was fairly reliable...IF you removed the recoil spring and stretched it out good..then reassembled the gun to shoot. Get about 12 shots per spring stretch..

The metal in that Raven should smelted down and used for coffee cans just like it was originally derived from. That would be the correct "Circle of Life" for that gun.
