Default Gun Show Report - Lexington RK show

We were only there yesterday. It was a pretty good show. Only a part of Rupp Arena was used. The place was pretty full of both vendors and customers, the promoter probably did well. It renewed my confidence in the smaller shows.

We didn't sell or buy any guns. I did sell 2 sets of grips (cheap). My pard sold a watch, some ammo, and at least a gun rug.

I was kind of surprised at the prices, but since the gun shows over the last couple of weeks all have the sellers (prospective sellers) pricing the guns about the same, I'm guessing its the new market price. It looks to me like the vendors would just as soon keep their guns as lower the price very much.

Last week I bought 2 boxes of .32-20 ammo for $20 a box. At this weekends show the boxes I saw were priced (and not moving) for $49. The two boxes of ammo Joe sold were WSM .270s. He's been carting it from show to show, and finally a guy came in who had a gun in that caliber. He had nothing in it, so priced it at $40. He got $35 for 37 rounds. While that's pretty hot ammo, the only buyers are guys with the guns. This guy was open with us and said he didn't need it, that he reloaded and had plenty of brass. But at the price asked (about half of retail) he couldn't refuse.

Around noon I went out to bring back lunch. I wasn't prepared for what I saw. It was a zoo out there, complete with animals. Somebody was putting on a spook fest or whatever for haloween. A month early. The building is maybe 2 blocks long. That full length was a line 3 things wide filled with seemlingly eager attendees. The most outstanding features were they were mostly obese and had tattoos. Some looked like they were trying for full coverage.

And I didn't know S&W made machette's. One vendor had 2 of them for sale.
