A Question About Posting Lil Faces Inside the Post
I have the ability to post the "faces" in the beginning of the thread but not inside after a sentence.
How do dat be dun?
Also, how does one "bold" the letters and even add color?
I cannot find a way to do this on my "Post New Thread" thingie.
And what is "Tags" and "Trackbacks" used for?
Thanks for the help.

I would guess that you're typing in the *Quick Reply* box (?)
If that's the case look down a bit and there are two buttons.
Click on the *Go Advanced* button....

If you don't use the "quick reply" box, but instead click on "post reply", which is a blue bar just underneath and to the left of the last post, you get a larger response box.
At the top of it is a B, which lets you bold, an I that lets you italicize, and a U that lets you underline.
Lots of other neat controls, also. On the right side is a block with eleven smilies in it. Click on one of them and it appears where your cursor is.

Regardless of the "Post Reply" or "Go Advanced" I get no options anywhere visible to me to do what is being described.
Perhaps I am using an older form of "Reply" that has not been changed to the newest form?
Perhaps it is an insidious plot against me only? (Winkie Face)

To get the smilies you use BB code. It simple and built into the forum software.
Code:
type in these characters in your post
:)
:D
:p
and you get these smilies when it gets posted
for a full list of available smilies go here.
S-W Forum - Smilies
For other BB codes that are built into the forum go here.

I don't get the smiley box either. And I'll be darned if I'm going to learn a bunch of bb code.

Don't you see the emoticons in a box to the right of the message box? If you do, these are the ones which attach in the body of the message. The ones at the box below the message box will attach in the "Subject" line of your post.
The one on the right has the heading "Smilies" and the one at the bottom "Post Icons".

It's a test!
(I say we don't teach him the secret handshake either until he figures out the emoticons on his own... )

Maybe:
At the top of this page is a banner. In the bottom left corner of the banner (on my screen at least) there's a hyper-link *User CP*.
Click on *User CP*
On the left is a bunch of choices. One of the headings is *Settings & Options* --- Under that heading is another hyper-link *Edit Options*.
Click on *Edit Options*
The last box (bottom of the page) is titled *Miscellaneous Options* and under it is another box titled *Message Editor Interface*
Is yours set to *Basic Editor - A simple text box*?
If so, change it to *Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls*
That's the best that I can come up with - If that doesn't work maybe if you can find a grade school kid to help you - They know more about this stuff than I ever will........

I don't know what you're talking about. They show up on my end.
