Default Infrasonic.....

Infrasonic sounds are said to foster a feeling of dread. They use them in movies to make the audience on edge. It may be what triggers animals to get nervous when we can't hear anything.

PS: I don't see evil in a person, but when they start to talk.......

Just thought I would bring this thread back around once again. I and many others have really enjoyed the stories. Hoping for some more!

Does anyone have a "Sense of Evil" experience to add?

I have only had that sensation a few times but one was unforgettable. I posted this, in a different thread, a while back:

" In 2000 I was close to closing the shop as it was almost 2100hrs. As I mostly wore cargo shorts, I would shove a pistol in my pocket after opening and then go about my day.

As I was ringing up the last customer, two hoodies came in. One stayed close to the door while the other moved to one of the stomp box display cases and kept nervously glancing my way.

My spidey sense was tingling. The one by the front held the door for the exiting customer. I really can't explain why, but I slid my hand into my pocket and wrapped it around my Bersa Thunder 380.

Hoodie #2 turned, faced me and moved his left hand down and began to pull up his shirt. I didn't wait. I leveled my gun at his head and they both bolted for the door.

The police found them later and hopefully they are still in the system."

It is one of those Steve Austin slo-mo scenes that is burned into my ROM.

I've been disturbed by the look in the eyes of more than 1 person in the interview room. Yes, some are & cannot hide the evil inside them.

I've also listened to the voice in my head>>>>>

Leaving the jail with a rookie in his 1st week. Another unit calls out with a suspicious vehicle. There was no concern in his voice, but HQTRS did ask if he wanted a back-up & he accepted. I was already rolling that way. "Something" told me to get over there at about the same time HQTRS started asking him if he wanted another unit. I've never been known for driving fast & running code in those days was frowned on. But everyone realized I was on scene in a very short time. The officer wasn't visible, but I soon saw a flashlight on the ground between a couple of houses. I found the officer & suspect rolling on the ground fighting for possession of the officer's gun, & the bad guy was winning. I was able to intervene & only the bad guy had to go to the ER.

The rookie was afraid he'd missed some radio traffic; HQTRS even played the tape back to see if there was anything particular that clued me in. All I know is I heard a voice say "Get over there" & I did.

Dang I read all 4 pages. Great Thread.
I once had the opposite of the heightened awareness thing that started this thread.
When I was 9 or 10 my buddy and I thought it would be fun to grab my dads bow and some broad head hunting arrows. We went to the land that surrounded the drive-in theater a block away.
After launching arrows at stuff I walked perhaps 60 yards away to find an arrow we had shot into the air. I picked up the arrow and looked in the direction of my buddy. I heard him yell something at me.
I looked into the air and saw the faint sight of a arrow on a big arc heading my way. That's when the odd part started. I was frozen in place, I did not move an inch. It was like 1 second was 20 min. I saw this arrow come in at such detail and in such slow motion it could have made Pixar jealous. I remained frozen in place and the arrow went right in between my elbow and torso without even the slightest contact. I looked behind me and the arrow was neatly stuck in the ground. Never heard a sound or moved an inch. Clearly the stoppage of time thing stuck with me.

I was deer hunting many years ago and had a experience in which I felt the Presence of God so strong that I still think of it sometimes now. I was a Christian then, and now, so the Presence of God was not a strange thing. No one around but me, and this feeling came over me, not a foreboding or bad feeling, just a powerful Presence. I will never forget it.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Back in 1988 or 89' I lived in Georgetown Texas and the construction company I worked for had a hunting lease in Lampasas and I was going deer hunting there one weekend with a friend of mine from work. At the last minute I couldn't go for some reason and he went anyway and I later herd something bad happened to him and he was in the hospital. I immediately went to the hospital and he was in really bad shape with a couple of broken bones, and bad cuts, and very nearly lost his eye. I started talking to him and asked what happened and he didn't know. He said he woke up and the deer stand was in splinters and he was laying on the ground covered in blood and couldn't hardly see because of the blood in his eyes. He thought he had shot himself in the head! He couldn't walk so he crawled back to his company truck and drove to camp and the guys rushed him to the hospital and that's all he remembered. I visited him again and he started remembering that everything had gotten very still and quiet but then the deer stand tower started shaking and he went to get out of the seat to look out the window but couldn't stand up! He didn't realize it at the time but a small tornado had picked his deer stand up in the air and the G-forces were holding him to the seat it then smashed it in to the ground about 50 feet away. He later said he did remember hearing the sound of a loud train and some other hunters said they had seen the funnel cloud.

Yes, close to 40 years ago. We had a group of German speakers and we would drink beer and speak German. We would shut down various places and move on till the next last call. One time, we ended up at some one timers house in the country. Everyone left. Then things got real weird. BAD feelings about this guy. We seem to be so much more open and excepting at a young age. But, anyway, I was much bigger than him. But I knew if I closed my eyes or fell asleep he was going to kill me. I just knew it. WIERD feelings. I went to leave and he tries to get my keys(should not have driven) but survival took over. Got in my VW and took off. Had no idea where I was so had to look at signs to find the right direction. It was so dark it was easy to see he was not following. After a couple miles I pulled off, locked the doors and slept it off. That guy never showed up for our Stammtisch again and nobody really knew him.

When I was a kid growing up in St. Louis I had pretty bad teeth. Got my first cavity before I ever started Kindergarten. My dad took me to the same dentist in South St. Louis for many years. I didn't much like the guy. He looked like Bob Newhart, and was just about as mild-mannered. Nevertheless he always seemed kind of creepy to me.

I figured it was just because he was a dentist, and I didn't like dentist visits. Hated getting the Novocaine shots in the gums. Hated the crunching feeling of getting a tooth extracted. Hated the whine of the drill getting a filling. Hated the taste of the antiseptics and medications. Hated having someone's hands in my mouth. So I figured that was why I didn't like him.

The last time I saw him he filled one of my front teeth that had been chipped in a fall. That was in the early spring of 1980 - around February or April. After only a month or two the filling broke and my step mom was supposed to set me an appointment to go in and get it repaired. Before I could get an appointment to see him, he was arrested - and charged with 7 counts of murder!

The guy became a criminology case study. At the time the psychologists studying him said he was the most remorseless killer they had ever encountered. They said he talked about the murders as dispassionately as if he were discussing the weather. They called him "The Hitman Dentist". He was only charged with 7 counts of murder, but IIRC there were several others he was suspected of committing, but they couldn't get enough evidence to indict him for.

His name was Dr. Glennon E. Engleman, and he was convicted for all 7 murders that he was charged with. He died of diabetes complications in prison in 1999. That is my most notable brush with true evil.

I've had numerous experiences like this, one, I was in Portland, Or., at a trade show, the night the show was over, I had a feeling I needed to get home, so I caught the next flight out, when I got off the plane, two of my aunts were standing at the gate and told me that my Grandmother (who had raised me) had died early that morning.
Two more were a different type, with both I started seeing things as if they two dimensionable, last time I was sitting in my yard looking toward the shop, it went into two dimensions and it also looked as if I was looking at it through a slightly opaque window glass, don"t know what to make of these
Got many more that I'll relate another time.

Well, it's been two years since the last post in this thread. Maybe someone has a strange experience to share. Personally, I have really enjoyed the stories that have been written about. Thanks to all that have contributed!

I just finished this entire thread and found it fascinating. I don't have any personal experiences of this type, but have known friends who had ghost experiences and also have read much about "paranormal" things and find it very interesting. I don't doubt the existence of demons. There is good and evil in this world.

The stories of feeling evil close by, or something about to happen, made me think. When I have had that feeling and then armed myself, the feeling goes away. In the past, I have convinced myself that it was just my imagination. These days I no longer feel that way. What I believe is that the person making me feel that way has gotten the feeling that their life is also in danger and have decided to change their mind. The sense of danger works both ways. Just a thought.

When I experience that, danger has been close. But sometimes, if I showed a reaction, soon the feeling eased, as if aN ASSAILANT CHANGED HIS MIND AND LEFT.

In one case, I looked to my left at a wee hour and saw a suspicious looking man approaching my car, on security stakeout in a strip mall pkg,. lot.

I got out and questioned him. He kept looking at my gun, deciding if I'd use it. Made an excuse and left.

Learned he was known to police as an accomplished car thief and car plunderer. Cops just hadn't proved it. Believed dangerous.

Another time, I was sitting on a forest log. Instinct said to look right oblique.

Saw a large coral snake approaching. I drew my pistol and waited until it passed, not close enough to strike.

When I was about 10 (early 60s) we bought property in the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania. The father of the farmer we bought the land from told me about 2 old "wagon roads" over the mountain behind our property.

A couple of weekends later I decided to try to locate one of the old roads and follow it to the top of the mountain/ridge behind our camp. When I got to the top, about 3 miles from camp and any road, I found an over grown meadow ; about 2-3 acres of flat ground right on top of the ridge. Decided to explore a little... towards the middle I saw 3-4 pines and what looked like apple trees. As a got close to these trees I got the sudden feeling that I wasn't alone........it got dead still, not even insect sounds......I slowly did a 180 while loading a .22lr in the Stevens Favorite that Dad had given me..........fighting the urge to run.

As I started to ease out of that meadow I almost stepped into a foundation, about 10x12 and 5-6ft deep, about 30 ft away was a small spring house..... as I got further away the feeling of dread/fear of not being alone just faded away.

Didn't go back into that meadow for years........ always felt that someone had died there; died alone and badly

None of the locals I asked(including the farmers father who told me about the "roads" was around 90 years old.... born in the area about 1875 owned the farm we bought part of in 189something) had any knowledge that the foundation was there.....this was pre ATVs and the closest you could get to this spot in a 4 wheel drive was about 2 miles away.......the foundation was flush with the ground and any structure had completely rotted away.....you almost had to step in it before you saw it.........just stacked stone walls.

Years later reading a history of Berlin Pa. I learned that a family had been killed in an Indian raid in the 1750-60s....... not this site but about 3-4 miles away (about a mile from our cabin)...... but the wagon road ran from the top of the ridge (the meadow) and points directly to where this other homestead was said to be located.

Often wondered if this site dates to the same era?

Edit:I've gone back often in the last ......30 years as it's an easy trip on an ATV....... but every time I enter that meadow it feels like a, for want of a better term, a dead zone.

2nd edit: As I wrote this I realized that it's been 50 years since "I" found this meadow.......and in those 50 years that meadow hasn't really changed. It's on top of a mountain... the soil is thin and poor....but it's surrounded by forest..... the spring house is the only water source I know of in a 1/2 mile... "sand springs" about 1/3 of the way down the wagon road to the west........ other water is about a mile away to the south and east.

Probably, reading to much into it but since that day that clearing has always "felt" different to me.
Bump with edit..................................

Maybe you have not taken note of them, but these things are innate, and are opperating all of the time. When I was in the military, the ability to depend on "feeling" my way along became exercised to the point that it was my/our primary source of feedback as to what was going on, including the lack of the need of verbal communication with the others I worked with. We all have this ability, but we should become acquainted with it, not fear these feelings, but heed them as you would any warning signal. We were afraid to be afraid, because that was when you could mess things up for yourself, or worse, for someone else. It helped me at those times to think, or say to myself that it's "too late to be scared now," kind of gallows humor, but it works when you are about to get on the bus.

The other thing that I would say is that there is evil in the world. What a revelation huh?! Well, we are in the middle of an enormous war that is based in the realm of the Spirit. What we see with our finite faculty's is very small in comparison to the whole picture. Everything, both good and bad has a spiritual foundation. The war is one and lost in the hearts and minds of one individual at a time, based on their choices. This is what I have experienced. Choose the Light. Flapjack.
I was going to write a comment here on my experiences with such things, but Amazing Flapjack pretty much said it all and I can add little to the subject.

Just a few years ago my brother was visiting and we went out to do some shooting in the nearby Pawnee National Grasslands (Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests Pawnee National Grassland - Pawnee National Grassland, NE of Greeley). There are also dwellings mixed in with the public areas, but they are few and far between. You do not encounter many other vehicles while driving around the myriad dirt roads. We were heading back out and could see a pickup stopped facing us on the left side of the road with a man standing next to it. As I slowed way down and was approaching, I was watching for a signal that he might need some assistance. He just stared/glared with no return of my hand wave---and I slowly drove past him thinking it was odd he didn't give me the "wave back". Then I heard him yell loudly "HEY !!" .. I stopped and reversed back up to him thinking that he DID need some help. When I got next to him he said "What are you doing out here"? It was NOT said in a "howdy pard" manner, but a scowling and annoyed manner. My hackles went up and I was now on "full alert". I hesitated to make ANY response and thought "just drive away", but I asked him why he wanted to know. That made him angrier, and then I just drove off. I was relieved when he didn't jump in his truck and chase us. My brother put his Glock back in his holster and we went back to town and had a nice Mexican dinner. This was a fairly obvious situation that most people would recognize as possibly dangerous. But I was on "alert" with that "thing" in the pit of my stomach from first I saw his stopped truck.

My sleep paralysis episode was almost 50 years ago but I remember it like it was last night. I was in high school, just me and Mom in the family house. I was with some of the guys I hung around with at the time and we were in a cabin. I got a feeling of Deja Vu and asked someone if we had been here before....then I said "Oh..I know...we did this once and now I'm dreaming it....I gotta wake up....I gotta wake up!" I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling of my room but I couldn't move. I was able to thrash my body around but couldn't move my arms or legs. I fell to the floor with a loud crash...I was thinking that I'd wake Mom and she'd think something bad was wrong with me. I found that, with much difficulty, I was able to crawl. I slowly crawled across the floor and made it to the foot of the bed but could go no farther...I gave up and rested my head against the dresser and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes and I was wide awake, laying on my back in my bed with the covers perfectly in place...I had never moved an inch. As an aside, I had read a book on the power of pyramids and had built a small one from cardboard to the proper angles. The evening before the dream I had gotten a cheap compass and aligned the sides of the pyramid to the compass points and placed it under my bed. I had another vivid dream the next night but I only recall a few bits and pieces of that one. I don't recall how long the pyramid was under my bed but after that second dream it never occurred again.

I've had this feeling quite a few times, most of them when I was a security guard in a Las Vegas hotel/casino. The first guy I remember really well, mostly because he was from Ohio. He was just "wrong", and we had first contact with him to tell him to stop harassing the cocktail waitress, but eventually, it escalated into a huge fight, and besides "Kookstrength", he was about 6'5" and after we finally got him cuffed, we found a large Bowie knife in his boot. He was wanted for robbery, rapes, and attempted murder. Dead eyes indeed. There was a notorious local guy who looked amazingly like Josef Stalin that I never turned my back on, even though he wasn't very big or anything, and actually was quite pleasant to me. The local police told me all the stuff he had been convicted of and I took their word for it and kept him in front of me at all times.

But the spookiest "encounters" happened while walking my dogs over the years. One time I was in the Columbusarea and took King out for a long walk, so he would sleep the whole night through and not wake up and start barking if someone said something in the hall outside our room. There was a running trail nearby and it was well lit and seemed perfectly fine. About a mile in, King froze, and I had this odd feeling that something or someone was watching us up ahead. His hair was up and he "clucked" a few times and sniffed the air and looked at me like, "I don't know what's going on here!", and I just turned around and went back to the motel, stopping every so often and point back where we came from and saying, "Watch em!", which got a cluck or two out of him, but nothing else.

Another time, I took Gus a different direction than I normally did when walking. He was fine with it, until we got to an empty lot that we had to cross over to get to the street where I wanted to go. He sat down and looked at me, like, "Nope!". I tried to get him to come along, and he just refused. The lot was pretty much just bare ground, and at the back was a little fence with a hole in it you had to go through. He wanted no part of it. I finally started feeling strange about it and gave up, and went another way. A couple of days later, I tried again, and not only wasn't he scared of it, he pulled me through the lot and the fence. I always wondered what spooked him that one day.

About 30 years ago I was traveling cross country alone on my motorcycle. I stopped at a rest area in the middle of nowhere somewhere in Kansas. Got off the bike and looked around and there was no sign of life around anywhere,,, no cars, bikes, trucks,,, nothing. I took my helmet off and went into the restroom and encountered 2 nasty looking characters just standing in there, looking at me. No hi's, no smiles, just staring at me, both of them. I immediately turned around, jumped on the bike and rode 10 miles down the interstate and relieved myself in the weeds. I still get chills thinking what might have happened.

I've been out on my bike several times, and would get an uneasy feeling. I always turn around and head home, or take a different road to see if the feeling passes.

Been out on my surf board a few times, and got the same feeling. I always paddle back in.

I'm kinda getting that feeling right now from posting in a 9 year old thread.

Fear, not from 2 legs but from 4 legs—Grizzly.

We were from the farmland of Missouri and the Ozarks of Arkansas. Because of our jobs, Penny and I were living in the foot hills of the Washington Cascades. We had at the time a black and brown lab that we would take to the rivers to swim, or into the back country for a long hike, and a swim in one of the lakes up in the higher levels. This would always be exciting to the labs: the fresh air, a cold swim, a day of pure joy and fun.

We had a special place we’d go into at the start of the upper foot hills. We would drive and park on this deserted logging road, and hike in from there. It would go by water falls, streams, marsh lands and the dogs would be running all over. And we knew going in and up, that there was 1 way in and 1 way out. We had been there with the dogs so many times before, and this time would be the first time I was really afraid for us, that something might have happened. Possibly to all of us. I can honestly say that I’m not ashamed to say, that I was honestly scared to death as the saying goes.

On the way back out, later in the day, on a flat part of the logging road, there was high thick overgrown brush on both sides. Penny and I were talking to each other and out of the corner of my eye I saw both labs, about 15 feet in front of us, do a complete freeze. I looked up straight down the road, to about 30-40 yards down the road; a grizzly was emerging from the high brush. For this part of the story I will say she, as I will later explain. She came into the middle of the road, saw us, she herself froze, and while having her side to us, turned her head to stare a hole through us. It was the most intense, live and angry, that close to her, stare I have ever seen. Not one muscle was moving on her, while she eyeballed us. We had whispered to the labs to come back to us, and somehow got them back to us, and clipped there leads on. I told Penny, hold Brandy (our female lab) out away from your side a little, and I took CJ’s (the male) lead, and moved him out from my side. I wanted her to see all four of us as one big unit. Except, she wasn’t moving at all. Just staying ultra still and staring at us. I looked down at CJ, 80 lbs. of lab at my feet, I looked down the road at her, saw this mass of muscle in her shoulder, the size of her head, the size of her massive body, and my mind was racing. I knew there’s 6 or 700 lbs of grizzly down there, still staring a hole through us, not moving at all. Our car is on the logging road, on the other side of that bear and that’s the only way we can get to the car.

I was just getting ready, after what seemed like minutes, getting ready to tell Penny, let’s just back off, let’s see if she leaves, and see if we can get by her. I didn’t even get the words out, when with her head still turned looking at us, she completely backed back into the high brush, and we could not see her anymore. Great, just great, we have to go down there, by that spot where the grizzly was, to get to the car. There is no other way to do it. We timed it. We waited 30 minutes, staying quiet as we could and not moving. We kept the dogs on a lead, and proceeded by the spot where she came out. I took a .357 out, (don’t laugh), that’s all I had, and had it in my hand, ready. I told Penny, if necessary and I have to use it, I stay, you go as fast as you can for the car. She, the grizzly, wasn’t there. But we could see as we walked by, a big area where she had been.

On the way back home, we stopped by this little backwoods country store down off the logging road. I had been in there many times, while taking the dogs out there, and got to know an older retired Washington State Trooper who had bought the store, and now ran it. I loved talking to him, listening to him, and stories of all kinds. I told him what had just happened. He said you probably came upon a sow with a couple of cubs that you couldn’t see, back in the brush. The reason for the long stare, he said, was probably to access whether this was a possible stand and fight, to protect he cubs, or upon seeing the 4 of you, better to just leave and take the cubs away from possible harm.

True story. I was 33. I was afraid for me, for Penny and for our dogs. I admit it. Our dogs behaved perfect! They didn’t move a muscle, they didn’t bark, they stayed perfectly still and they probably helped save us by their presence as I’m sure the bear smelled and saw them.

After bringing a load of firewood up to my camp for this years hunting season about 6 pm I’m cooking my famous cheeseburgers and we sat down to eat something let out a blood curling scream like something being skinned alive. The hair on my neck stood up. Like I said before it follows me hiking in and out.

Now during hunting season it happened again. I was out using the privy with my 1911/45acp. Same super loud scream. I always pack a gun to the privy. Once coyotes surrounded my brother in the privy scratching at the door. I came out to see what was going on they took off.

After many unexplained encounters I contacted the BFRO bigfoot researchers. Up above my camp they found two bf beds.

Nothing on this planet scares me. I may get rattled but survival mode kicks in. My neighbors are afraid to come to my camp at night. We’re pretty much protected.

Now we rode off road with my son. We rode the mass pipeline and forest. There’s an area we fly through. I got a really bad gut feeling there it’s in the pines. We had to stop there once to move a blown down tree, we hurried to get out of there. Something bad or evil is there.

They talk about shapeshifters, going into different dimensions and what ever. If there in our dimension and bothering me their toast. I’ve had other weird stuff happen to me I’m a magnet for this stuff.

When I was very young, I was bowhunting in a state forest and had come upon a place where obviously there had been a farm at one time. The foundation stones were still in place, there were bits and pieces of household items scattered in the leaves, and if you looked for them, you could see where a gardens rows had been plowed up, even under the leaves. I leaned against a tree, jut wondering what kind of stories there were to tell.

It was about dusty dark, the light in the woods was starting to fail as the sun started to set. Then suddenly behind me something snorted. Then snorted again...then started moving around me huffing and puffing like a steam engine. MY hair was standing straight up as I knocked an arrow.

Then, through a clearing in the underbrush, I saw a doe deer run buy, just huffing and puffing. I had heard of deer snorting, but had never actually HEARD it myself. I didn't quite pee on myself, but I'm sure I came pretty close.

I spent my life from age 15 to age 50 doing mostly service work in peoples homes and businesses. Obviously I saw some weird, evil, funny and uplifting things. I am outgoing by nature and visit with most but sometimes you just get a sense to remain quiet and on guard.

I was in a mobile home with an average looking woman with a very strange message on the answering machine when I called to see if they were home. As I was lighting the furnace of what was a standard arrangement 3 bedroom trailer, I glanced down the hall and saw that 2 bedrooms were now one with a very stout looking framed bed, painted candy apple red with handcuffs on all corners.

Another average non-descript woman told me the furnace was in the basement. It was next to the copper kettle and the goat head pentagram on the concrete floor. No problems physically from either of those but on a couple of occasions I got the impression to not put my largest screwdriver back in the tool bag but to hold it in my hand next to the handle of the bag.

I visited with a man on a paperwork item about relocating a gas line and kept my distance as much as possible. I later found out he was high ranking in a motorcycle gang. He wore a 6" or so fillet knife on a sheath parallel to his belt, with the handle near his buckle. Not real visible unless you were tuned into it.
I had many impressions of how to get to a certain place, especially when working weekends, 3-11 shift or 3 am call outs. Sometimes it was to help someone out of a jam, sometimes it was to avoid something I later read about and sometimes I never found out why. I saved 3 people from CO poisoning when something said to check things out a little longer. I had a few calls that a voice said " finish and get out, don't turn your back on them". I also had a few that I worked way harder than I should have to fix a problem, encourage someone personally and just be nice.

I had a very slow shift one July night and basically went over an old gas range from the late 30's early 40's to make it safe and functional. The young lady was very down on life at the time and as I visited with her on the range 's functions and abilities I could see her brighten with an attitude of "gee somebody is understanding me". She was a really beautiful young woman if you could get past the faint parallel scars on her wrists. She later approached my wife and I at a grocery store and thanked me again. As with most, I remembered her stove better than her but recognized her once she mentioned it.

In short I believe listening to our senses can be both uplifting as well as fearful.

As far as the "funny feelings", etc. I call that my spidy-sense. My fiance laughs when I call it that, but its real, that sixth sense we get that tell us something just isn't right. It's not something to be ingnored either. If you can vacate the area. If not, take a deep breath and proceed forward with caution.

Very interesting topic. I too have seen people with those blank hollow eyes.
I read somewhere that the greatest miracle that the devil ever did was convincing the world he didn't exist.

I remembered a few more. In 70 I was working as an apprentice plumber in a small shop. We did a job of combination heating & plumbing rebuild in a small rental house South of Grace Idaho, outside Niter. We were there 4 or 5 days, me or me and another worker. The lady, will call her Doris, talked nonstop unless the tools were running. She was older than him and was the type to do absolutely anything he said. The man, David, worked at one of the chemical plants N of Soda Springs, or maybe one of the mines. He was obviously weird, maybe I was too young to recognize evil when I saw it. He asked about guns a few times but went quiet when we started talking about winning trophies shooting on the Search and rescue team.
I forgot all about them until they tried to blow up the Cokeville Wyoming school a few years later. The Cokeville Miracle - Wikipedia.
This refers to both the movie, and a book by the outdoor writer Hart Wixom whio lived in the area. I believe CBS made an earlier TV movie.

I was camping with a bunch of friends once when we hiked into a small glade and started to set up camp. At age 14 I was one of the younger ones but there were 7 or 8 of us. We had a circle of Quaking Aspens and a 50 foot cleared space in the center, an almost perfect spot. We were within a couple of miles of a highway but could hear no traffic. As dusk started it seemed to me that the Quakies were coming in closer. It was odd, eerie and out of place. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to appear a wimp. No more than 5 minutes later the oldest said "This place gives me the creeps. lets get out of here". We broke camp and were gone in 7 or 8 minutes. No idea what had happened there or what might have.

I don't think I am different than most but have felt the feeling to move at certain times and did so. Once or twice nothing happened that I saw. I did have a pigeon egg splatter where I was right after moving out of the shade of a three story hotel wall. I think many people develop what are called street smarts and woods smarts. I hope that they never loose them.

I don’t usually get any unexplained feelings or sensations.
But - a few years ago I owned some land near the village of Torreón, about 30 miles SE of here.
Several folks asked me if I had checked out the REPO Berm Earthship House nearby.
I finally drove down there. And it gave me the strangest feeling!
Not exactly fear, more like apprehension.
And a strong urge to leave!
So I did.
I ever heard that any terrible thing ever happened there.
Just a deserted remote house.

After spending an hour or so, listing a few memorable occasions, and listing them on this thread, I clicked on post, and, POOF, all my work disappeared. all that work down the drain. Any significance to that?

My old pard rebel Joe was a interesting old school GI, a good guy and mentor to a young U/H. He had lived in about 4 countries, had a collection of ancient Thai Buddha amulets, and corresponded with a African witch doctor. Back in the day there were many GI's who had strange hobbies- funny and eccentric cats who had unusual adventures.
Joe ran into a real fortune teller at a small carnival he said she gave him the hebejebe's by her looks, not ugly but rather fox like Sophia Lauren looking- but muy sinister. Joe was having big trouble with two supervisors at his job they were riding him trying to force him out, Joe was a good worker but they had it in for him. A rebel he spoke the truth and you know in some outfits that makes you the goat. He asked the lady
"What am I going to do they are driving me nuts"
"You don't have to worry about if in less than a year it will be resolved" she replied.
She was right in less than a year both were dead one in a car wreck and another through a medical mishap.

Well it's been 10 years. Ten years I say, since I started this thread. So many great stories have been told and so many members have expressed their enjoyment in reading they're stories.

Would love to hear some more stories about "A Sense of Evil"

Thanks, Carnivore

Zombie lore for the zombie thread...

I was at Clark in American year 200, late Oct. in my cavern like barracks room with the plexiglass porthole, darn cool hide out, listening to Bob Marley getting ready to drive my Honda 350 down to Fields Ave. and have some San Mig’s.

A knock on the door, open it, two black guys in the hall Jomo from Jamacia and Pierre from Haiti.

“Man, we heard the music” Pierre worked in the same clinic, “come in have a brew.” We started talking scuttle butt and cheeze mo goings on in the shop. Mag beer muna tayo! one more for the road.

Somehow we started talking Halloween stuff, the year before some of us went down town in scary out fits to drink and almost got shot, Halloween did not happen in the PI in those days. Pinoy don’t play that- at least not then.

Started talking a bout Zombies Pierre being from Haiti figured he would know.

“Man you have no idea Zombie is real you can’t know leaving in the states all your life and you don’t want to know about it. And that’s not all the Loup Garou, the je-rouges is real to”

I did a J.B., “C’mon man…

“I told you, I told you (deleted!)-don’t tell me- I seen it and I seen what they CAN DO, I have seen the people they have taken, you are naive, do you think your eyes will lie to you when YOU SEE IT!”

“Ok ok Pierre man, I believe you, no offense, hey its late curfew will be here fast, lets go- we will take the base bus get something to eat and come back” It was eerie the man was dead serious...Scare!.

I was lying, did not believe him stupid, being foolish I told some other people who told me about haunts in the P.I. ” bullhoot, I believe in bullets.”

Later, when I got more miles on me, I learned better- like I said- stupid.

Pierre ran off with my Bob Marley records later- but he paid me back.
