I can't post what I want to say
But....well, never mind. I'm glad they are safely out of the maze. That's what 911 is for.

The whole thing sounds kind of corny.

Saw this on the news this morning. The host said 'Why didn't they just walk through the corn?' Humorously pathetic.

Someone looking for a lawsuit I suppose? Could anyone be stupid enough to get lost in corn for real?

Yeah they can. I grew up in the midwest-- corn over your head in thousands of acres, you bet it happens. Sort of like being blindfolded. Nothing very funny about it, especially when children are involved.

I grew up in Iowa - lots of corn - and yes small children can have problems and get lost in a large field - but an adult? Please......
don't the emergency services people have real problems and real people to aid and assist?
Rule #1 - If in a corn field and lost find a row - any row - and follow it until it ends. Then exit the corn field.

I also grew up in Iowa and can vouch for the corn field being daunting.
Rule #2: If in a maze and lost, put your left hand against a wall. Do not ever take your hand off the wall. Begin walking in any direction with your hand on the wall. Eventually, you'll find the exit. Yes, you'll pass by places you've been, but don't take the hand off the wall, just keep moving.

And they allow this woman to have children in her custody - sad.

I could hardly believe what I read! The guy said he could see the lights of where he had to go! Apparently not a hunter, anyway!
Wonder how he makes it to and from work everyday??? TACC1

That is so funny and stupid to be lost in a corn maze. I wonder what would have happened if no body knew where were they lost.

"The maze has several guide posts with clues and posters instructing visitors to send text messages to receive additional guidance to help them make their way out."
So they can call 911 but they can't send text messages to the workers? Or read guide posts? It's a good thing that breathing is an involuntary action otherwise some people would be in serious trouble...

All I know is one of my first jobs was picking and shucking corn, had to wear long sleeve flannel shirts, hot as all heck, but that corn will scratch you up, I'm not voluntarily walking into a corn feild!

HUMMMMM--I can see some folks have never been out of a town or in a place where there aint no maps.
Gettin lost and turned around is easy---I have done it several times and I was raised in the woods.
If you can't see more than 15 feet how in the world would you know that you were 25 feet from being out.
Glad they had 911.
there was found an old model T in the Big Thicket when I was a kid--it was lost bby a man that went hunting in there and lost his way---got out but never did find the way back to that car.
Blessings

Check it out on Yahoo - this field is about 4 to 5 ac. and has a wooden bridge constructed in the middle. You climb up the stairs on the bridge over the corn maze and get your bearing. These people found the bridge and could see the parking lot and still called 911.
I'm surprised they can find their way out of the Wal-Mart parking lot on a busy Saturday. I guess the Clinton's were right - it takes a village to help some people.

If it were not for people like this,we would not need 911,half million dollar fire engines, search and rescue. The old days stupid people would be eliminated from the gene pool by natural forces.

The air sure would be fresher though; without all the moron exhaust polluting it.

Since it was in Mass., there will surely be some regulations forthcoming to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.

If I was lost at dusk with complaining wife and kids, I would have called 911 to come and get me, leave the wife and kids but come get me.

Okay, let me be the one to inquire...
Should peops as dumb as this be allowed to own/possess/carry a gun?
For the record, I would DIE of starvation in a corn maze before calling for help.
Be safe.
