Why didn't I think of this?
I've got some volunteers and we're moving signs today!
Move the deer crossing to where there's less traffic

Our minds are just too highly trained to think of this.

And they somehow have enough money to own computers and they send emails.
(Let's hope Tim is just kidding. I've seen this one before.)

Deer are pretty stupid. Nevada put up deer crossing tunnels and they didn’t do a darn thing like everyone knew they wouldn’t. They started trying putting up silhouettes of deer at the ends of the tunnels and darn if the deer didn’t start using them. No joke. It’s not some wild success but it’s cheap and it works at least some of the time.

You think thats good? The great and brilliant State of Washington is spending tens of millions of dollars on a "highway improvement" project to install an underpass for animals, so they don't cross the freeway on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass. I don't know if they will be installing signs directing the animals to the underpass. And at the same time, we have a budget "crisis".....

I believe you're too late, Rule. One night when I slipped up and listened to some of Leno I heard this very item in "The Headlines".

Well I'm back. Spent all morning moving deer Xing signs to safer areas. Just for good measure we moved 3 railroad Xing signs and 4 stop signs that I felt were in the wrong places.

It's kinda like where I live. They built the brand new SW Regional Air Port right in the middle of the most environmental, water shed area where the few Florida Panthers left had been living.
All along the roadway to the Airport are Panther Crossing signs. I should have taken pictures. They strip cleared all the woods for thousands of acres and there was a giant grader machine parked next to one of the signs. Our tax dollars at work

they are putting up 4 miles of electric fence between Lincoln and Omaha on I-80 (I assume both sides). I'm not sure what is going to happen along the other 500+ miles of I-80

They did that on Alligator Alley (I -75) crossing Florida. I think there is a under pass every 25-50 miles or something insane.
