Default Refresh my memory on Spec. Ord. date codes.

Never was much interested in them before, but can someone refresh my memory on how to read the newer Spec. Ord. date codes. I have a 37-1 from 1993 with Spec. Ord. number 3018. Any help?

I think it reads like this, from what I have heard: first digit in the code is the last digit of the year produced ("3"018 =1993). the next three digits are the day of the year it was produced (018 = 18th day of 1993, or Jan 18).
