Interesting, I had to put my full address in short of the state before it found me. Google earth won't get you on my street.

I got as far as the #, street name, and D (for drive) and I was there! Bet it has something to do with your cookies as I have a common street name.

Wow I must REALLY live in the boonies. Keeps trying to put me somewhere in Kansas until I get to the second letter of my city and then it goes to the Phillippines after the 3rd letter it gives up and says "location not found"

Another observation, When I put in my address it had a street view. When I put any other address in I could only get a satellite view. Anyone else?

Grab the little man icon and drag him onto the street and mess around with him. Gets you a street view. I do think quality of coverage depends on the area being looked at.

I clicked but didn't drag. Thanks. Sometimes Google Earth is off a bit and I was wanting an alternative.

Wow! Thanks for the link. The car in my drive I sold about three years ago but the picture is more up to date than Google Earth.

It took me to thirteen different locations before it got to my place. A couple of them were real doozies.
New York City; Bellevue WA; Austin TX; Kamisu JAPAN; Chicago IL; Newark ORKNEY ISLANDS; Portland OR; back to New York City; Washington DC; Orland Park IL; Brighton IA; Pleasant Dale NE; Waynesburg OH; Bothell WA.
Japan? The Orkney Islands? Really? When it hit Bellevue on the second one I thought it was about to be over. Bellevue's not even ten miles away.

I checked my address and the photo that came up was at least two years old. My Jeep was parked in the driveway and I sold it two years ago this month.

It's the same picture as Google street view. It must be from October because the trees are bare and there's pumpkins on the porch...
