Two Deputies Shot
We had an hour left on a 12 hour night shift this morning when two of our guys were shot. Thankfully both will survive.

Too bad they couldn't have saved the taxpayers, the cost of a trial.

I find it simply amazing that the suspect survived. I know if I were a police officer who had been shot by a suspect I'd make every effort to insure he didn't ever do any more shooting. It's probably a good thing I'm not a Cop, I suspect that I'd be a bit too heavy handed for the Politically Correct times today, sometimes when I watch Cops I end up yelling "taze them until they start smoking" at the TV.

Prayers sent for a speedy recovery. And I can't believe there isn't a mark on him...your guys sure showed a lot of restraint (and professionalism)...not sure how he'd look with most other depts.

Good that the cops are gonna be OK.
Suspect somehow doesn't look like an upstanding citizen , or responsible , or even legal gun owner. I'd bet he is a 'prohibited person' when it comes to posession of firearms. Let's see if he receives any of the mandatory sentences. Or will some bleeding heart liberal judge let the serious charges be plea bargained away so he'll be on the streets by Xmas.

After our guys were both shot they managed to hold this guy down for about 4 minutes until the rest of us could get there. They were already hands on when the shooting broke out. If they had tried to draw a weapon, someone would have had to let go of the suspect. Felt like the longest drive of my life getting there. Here's his booking photo. He fought all the way to a patrol car with 4 guys carrying him.

By the looks of him , I'm guessing he was hopped up on meth or crack , or a combination. Probably coulda shot him several times and he still would have some fight. Too bad he didn't 'escape' and dissappear into some gator infested swamp.

When a fellow officer is hurt or killed in the line of duty we (police officers) will say all kinds of not so politicsly correct things towards the maggot that hurt or killed them. It has very little to do with wanting to make our own rules or act as judge and jury. It's more about anger and expressing it. If you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. I doubt he is quite as evil as you have assumed.

I also suspect the shooter is a methhead. That drug is probably the most destructive in our history.

My prayers for your fellow officers, thank God the perp didn't know how to shoot. If Mr. No signs back on as a guest to check the post, he should understand that JW was venting. Most cops do to relieve the stress of the job. That's all it is, no real intent to take the law into their own hands. Mr. No, you've got some issues you need to work out.

Here's to a speedy recovery for the officers, and a speedy trial for the miscreant. I hope they make an example of him, and sentence him to 20 life terms, with NO parole possible...........but somehow I doubt that will happen.
And maybe it's a cultural thing I don't understand because I'm just an old fud, but I don't get the whole Dreadlocks thing. Are people so busy smoking dope and being idiots they don't have time to wash their hair?
Oh well, he'll be shorn like a sheep before long.

Thoughts and prayers to these guys. Impact of these assaults on law enforcement is never really felt by the public. There is always a family having to deal with the aftermath. My prayers always include the family.
