I've done some sales and trades with folks on there. Downside though... there's no feedback mechanism so sometimes there are scammers. I'd only do it face to face and look the gun over.
But... Sigmas are pretty cheap NIB. Why not just order one from Buds or whoever? Unless you can get a used one for 200 dollars or something.

I've used Armslist several times for purchases and trades. Just follow the same rules you would with Craigslist. Don't give any more information than you want them to have. I use an e-mail that I'm willing to throw away if I start having problems with it. Always meet in a public place. Always tell someone where you're going and all info you have on the person you're meeting, or take someone with you who waits in the car or across the parking lot. Just use your head, be careful and you'll be fine. You've never had fun until you've traded a pistol for a canoe in the parking lot of a Bass Pro!

Real good advice from all, I have sold guns on armslist, in fact I am meeting a gentleman today at a little cafe in strawn, texas to sell him a .243 rifle, and enjoy the best chicken fried steak in texas! Use good sense and you should be fine.

I agree with the previous posters. My experiences on Armslist have all been positive. Really no different than buying selling or trading on other gun forums, just no feedback mechanism. Trust your instincts. Know what the gun you are buying or selling is worth,(in other words if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true), meet somewhere in the open where you can be seen if things go south, and tell someone where you will be, who you are meeting, and how long you expect to be gone. Keep a cell phone and a loaded handgun concealed somewhere close by.

I have bought 30-40 handguns from Gunbroker over the years, though never from Amslist. I have NEVER been burned, and sometimes the weapon is better than advertised.
I ONLY buy from established sellers, with good feedback.Knock on wood

I've sold two on Armslist pretty quickly, I always post that I require a bill of sale and ID even though it's not required for a FTF sale here in Missouri, and we meet at a local gun shop/indoor range where there's always a lot of people coming and going and surveillance cameras.
