pocket lint
I carry a popular 380 in a pocket holster and every night I take it out and put it on the night stand next to the bed. I visually check the out side and every week or two I field strip and clean it.
It looks like I need to pay closer attention more often

You should check your pockets for lint and check your dryer filter for the same.

Yup......have to do the same thing.
Look on the bright side .... if you save enough of the lint you might have enough for someone to knit you a sweater.

For the past several years that 380 has been carried daily. First time I've ever had any lint accumulation like that.
I am embarrassed and it was with trepidation I posted the photos'
complacency could prove deadly

Here is the deal on pocket carry, whether it is a revolver or a semiauto.
When you put on a clean pair of pants, always turn you gun pocket inside out and remove all the lint that is in it.
Still you should check your gun for lint, etc. at least weekly.
Do not forget to clean out the magazine often as well.

The scourge of bare pocket carry and "printing". I use a soft bristle toothbrush every day or so for the lint. The other secret (not) is to carry "dry", meaning after cleaning and lubing (I use breakfree) let it soak and then wipe dry very well to eliminate surficant that will attract and hold the dirt/lint etc.
As far as "printing" goes, ya have to buy new jeans/pants.
