Smile Seeking some gun advice from the forum.

Dear s&w forum, i need a little gun advice from the forum.
In November 2011 i purchased a s&w model Victory at a gunshow and it is a very fine revolver but i really want to own a s&w model 60 .357 magnum with a 3 inch barrel. Unfortunately the only way i can afford the model 60 is if i sell my model Victory and use the profits to buy the model 60.
What the heck should i do? I really love my model Victory but i really want the model 60. Any and All advice from my fellow forum members would be really appreciated sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the s&w forum.

Can you save up for the 60 a little at a time? You might not get it as soon as you'd like, but I think you'd regret selling the Victory.

Well, what can i tell ya. Sometimes we can't have everything we want, sometimes we can approach it. Will the owner of the model 60 let you make payments, put it on layaway, or work it off. Part time job might impress the owner to give you a break w/the promise to pay. Search for things you can sell here on the forum or elsewhere.

I can almost give you a guarantee that there will be another model 60, .357 magnum w/3" barrel that you will like almost as much in your future. Maybe a lesson here is to save some money, have a stand-by emergency gun fund. Until you get that fund, might be a good idea to stop looking for a new gun, might help your disposition.

But hay, give it some thought, you might just come up w/a way to get that gun. 'Tis the season you know, maybe the owner of that gun will get the Christmas spirit. In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas.

Those "needs" that you satisfy instantaneously by sacrificing something else will ultimately be less than satisfying. Keep what you have and work towards a way to get what you want - even if it takes a while. The chase is half the fun!

mg357, just a thought that isnt my business and I may be jumping to conclusions but here it is. We know you are in a wheelchair somewhat disabled. I assume you to also be on ssi or similar.
I once knew a young man long ago in my past. He wanted his first car. He made a deal with a dealer to work off a nice used car by changing oil etc for the dealer. Maybe you can go to some gun stores and propose a similar idea cleaning guns or whatever he wants. Tell him you dont want money or benifits----yet. Just the gun when he thinks you have fairly worked off the value. A small one owner shop just might make the deal as once he got to know and trust you it would leave him free to leave you run the shop while he needs to run errands etc. Who knows? It could lead to a career or better things. In fact near me there is a severly handicapped midgit or very small guy in a wheelchair that I see working in a pawn shop here in town. Perhaps a deal like that if done right with the owner might not effect disability payments when no money is directly involved. I would look for a owner/ one man shop. With experiance from there could lead to a big dealer. Just thinking------
