Default Who's headed to Vegas for the Shot show and winter antique arms show?

Just wanted to see how many of you are planning on going. Went to the antique arms show for the first time last year and was very impressed with the quantity of fine guns available. Not too many deals but lots of impressive pieces to drool over.

This year I am also getting into the Shot show for the first time. I am looking forward to it but would like to get some advice on what I should make a priority to see at the large trade show. There will undoubtedly be some things there that I don't really care to see so would love to know where to focus my time on the one day I will have committed to the Shot show.

Maybe I'll play some poker as well and earn enough to buy something purty. Hope to see some forum and SWCA members there.

I doubt if one could simply WALK each aisle in a day. The show is that large.

Go to the SHOT Show site and watch the "first timers" video they have posted. Explains a bit about the show, how to find exhibitors, who is exhibiting, etc.

They also have a show Planner program...I've never used it...it's also on that main page.

Wear comfortable shoes! And I usually bring a water bottle along. Few yrs back many exhibitors handed out water...not so many recently.

Bring something to carry all the catalogs and assorted freebies available. Many of the booths hand out free bags for just that purpose.

I have a computer bag with a wide, shoulder strap that I take along. I can carry quite a bit of weight ...comfortably.

With only a single day I would try to make a list of the folks you really wish to visit, or ones you need some technical help or have questions about a product...map those out and make them a priority. Otherwise it's so large it's sort of sensory overload.

I find a few aspirin for lunch help with the sore muscles too. Your going to enjoy SHOT Show!

Almost forgot...No idea WHERE your staying but there are shuttle busses that run back and forth to the Show from the major hotels. MUCH easier than driving and trying to find a parking space. Though....being able to visit your car mid day to drop off the 45 pounds of stuff you picked up that morning...is nice.

The antique arms show starts the friday following SHOT show. David Carrol always has a table there and last year I was able to meet three founding members of the SWCA. One long time S&W collector told me that the Vegas show has more quality guns than even the Tulsa show can lay claim to since Tulsa has a lot of BS, Beef Jerky, and non gun stuff. This is a pure knife and gun show and nothing more. It's pretty impressive with all the highest end gun traders and sellers displaying their stuff. It's held at the Riviera.

We'll be staying at some time shares that cost me nothing to stay at so the price and comfort can't be beat. It's becoming a regular trip for me and I usually try and save some funds just in case there is something I can't pass up. Last year I saw S&W's that were one of a kinds and some that you just never see NIB. It was cool.

Default Las Vegas Gun Show

I will be at the Vegas show (Jan 20-21-22), it is a great show. Usually see a number of S&W Collectors there. Bruce Roger has party for S&W Collectors and friends on Friday evening at his condo.

I'm going to Shot this year. First time for me, and looking forward to it. My brother scored passes and was nice enough to invite me to go along. I can only stay for a couple of days, but am going to try and see as much as I can.

Bruce, I'll keep an eye out for you. It was good seeing you up in Ogden a couple months back as well.

Maybe we'll cross paths Tom but from what I hear there are thousands of people at SHOT show. I only have a day to spend but I imagine it won't be nearly enough.

And I have to agree with Perazzi, it is the bext show I have yet to attend as well. Get well and maybe we'll see ya there next year.

A voice of experience here...
1: Wear VERY comfortable shoes..
2: The most important thing you can bring is one of those rolling " Milk Crates" on wheels, cause you gonna pick up A LOT of catalogs , brochures and even some samples.. and give aways..

Staples or most office suply store have them.. about $20.00 bucks or so..

One of the big distributorswere giving them away one year .. but only to the first 100 visitors a day to the booth..

I'm gonna miss it this year.. but if you have never been your gonna go crazy!!
