For those that speak Spanish
I have heard in a couple of western movies, the term "Big Casino" aside from the obvious gambling institution, what does the word casino mean in spanish?

I'd guess it's all in how ya use the term...
Calling sumone "Big Casino" could be the same as callin 'em Ol High Pockets or a high-roller, big fish.
I'd be willin to take a chance, mabee.
Su Amigo,
Dave

Big Casino is reputed to be a nickname assigned to Pat Garrett.

I thought it was a card hand. In "Chisum", Pat Garrett is called Big casino by Billie the Kid, who was called Little Casino.

Found this;
casino or cassino (both: kusē'nō) [key]. 1. Card game played with a full deck by two to four players. Its origins are obscure though it probably traces back to the Italian game of Scopa. It is a very scientific game, though playing with more than two persons reduces the strategic possibilities. Four cards are dealt to each player, and four open cards are dealt to the table. Through techniques known as building and trailing, players attempt to take the greatest number of cards (counting three points); the greatest number of spades (counting one point); the ten of diamonds, or big casino (two points); the two of spades, or little casino (one point); and the aces (counting one point each). The game ends after all the cards of the deck are dealt in successive hands of four cards each.

In Spanish, "casino" translates to "club" (gaming club, etc.). Probably a private gaming facility.

In related Itailian trivia... Junior on the Sopranos referred to his cancer as "The Big Casino".

Big Casion is the ten of diamonds and is 2 points. Little Casino is the 2 of spades and is one point. Aces are a point each-the most spades is 1 point and the most cards is 3 points.
Deceptively easy game to learn, but if you are playing against someone who knows the game and is good at card counting-you WILL loose a lot of money. Trust me on this one-I made a lot of money playing casino back in law school
