Default Well, my son didn't win...

...but Team USA won the People's Choice Taste award and the International Press Blind Taste award which basically means the people in attendance and the International Press thought the judges were full of it. Germany won the chocolate sculpture although my son said he would have voted for the Swiss piece if he had been judging, Japan won ice carving and something else. Seems like everything else went to Italy (surprise, surprise).

This is my son's chocolate piece which is supposed to be a river rock sculpture, something he does with his children when camping. He lost points for having a non-approved, non-chocolate ingredient in the sculpture (notice the water in the pool at the bottom). Yep, the judges counted off for the water.

That is beautiful work. Congratulations to both you and your son! I suppose Italy is in such a mess economically, they needed something to make them feel good. Germany is funding the EU, I guess they get to win.

Sir, you and your son should consider it an honor that they were chosen to compete against the worlds best.

Ps. their offering looks like a winner to me.

Tough call on the "water". I think it is still a beautiful piece of work. Congrats on being invited!
