Don't shoot it!
Hi Jimmy,
Don't shoot it. You would end up liking it.
I picked up the same gun in 38/357 a couple of years ago to shoot "Cowboy" class in the local pin match. The more I shoot it, the more I like it. Looks good, shoots good and is built like a tank. That's important for stuff that is around me.
Sounds like a nice gun.
Thanks
Mike

I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44mag many years ago. It hammered the be'jesus out of my palm. The Super Redhawk I replaced it with was much better. Elmer Keith is a much better man than I am.

If you traded a 3 1/2" pre-27 for it you are around the bend. If you traded a jennings .380, a Raven .25 and a BB gun, you're sharp as a tack. This one's a .45. Joe

Jimmy ... You can't get a SASS # carrying a Glock. Put on your gunbelt and Stetson, then fire up that Ruger!

If it were a Bisley model, I'd applaud. If not, it'll still make a fine boat anchor.

I am a huge fan of the Ruger single action family.
They do take away from other brands, but when it comes to the variety of single actions they are really very good.
I know a large number of folks that believe the only SA revolver is a Colt and I cannot dispute the quality and craftsmanship of that line, but if you want a .30 Carbine or a solid .41 magnum or .44 magnum, then Ruger is your friend.
You will enjoy your Vaquero, I am certain.

New or old Vaquero? Bright polish?
It seems you have forgotten to post pictures of your new weapon young man!
Definitely a step up from blocks. But a Raven .25 is a step up from the tupperware.
You need to load up a few of those .44 with black powder & REALLY have a blast.

You forgot the 357 MAX.
Think Ruger - Why settle for just purdy when you can have sturdy too!

Sir, I feel your pain. Every few years, I get "the .44 magnum bug" and simply have to have one. Then I shoot it a few times and wonder what the heck I was thinking. Usually end up selling the thing at a loss.
Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

You go buy another and then put them into a "concealed carry" rig like this................

Way to go Jimmy!! I think you will like it. I shot a guy's 357 Blackhawk about a month ago. Now I have decided I need one in 44 Special or 45 Colt....or maybe both.

Nice looking gun. Looks a lot nicer than a Glock. It is good to see someone stepping up in the world. Now trade the Ruger off on a S&W.

Hi:
Had some .44mag hand loads on hand: 240gr JHP with 9.0grs Unique.
Went to my LGS Indoor Range to try the "Hog Leg".
Awesome weapon that really likes this combination hand Load.

My Vaquero had to have the cylinder opened to .452.
Last guy just shot blanks in it.

Jimmy, nice looking hog leg you have there. Not a thing wrong with
those Ruger cowboy guns. I had a flat top old model blackhawk that
was one sweet shooter. Of course i pissed it away on something else
long ago.
